Firmware Question

I have v3 board with .20 firmware. The keyer on the dot side acts like a straight key. The dash side works fine. The resistors are installed. I tried loading another firmware and it gave me dark rectangles on the top row on the display. I reloaded .20 back with the same issues as above.

Is there a version of firmware that will fix the keyer issue?

Ron

the schematic here conveys what is going on --

note that the 4.7k resistor provides straight key action, then note the 2 added resistors used to get paddle functions.? possibly the 2,2k resistor on the dit side isn't enough.? I don't yet have first hand experience, but I thought I read that some experimenting may be necessary.? if you have an extra trimmer pot laying around, try putting it in series with the 2.2k, and gradually increase it to see if the dits emerge.?

the ubitx is literally reading a voltage level across the resistance, and possibly you do not yet have enough to trip the threshold to make a bit.?

Curt

PS - its in my future to work this also

Hello Curt and Ron... i have performed this mod on my v5 and my resistors were 2.18 k and 10.00 k for dit and dah respectively.?
If on the off chance you are using a front panel board from amateurradiokits.in I have more Information for you. I am running v1.122 of CEC firmware.?

The CEC firmware types are located at
which describes what each version can do. I would suggest firmware at 1.0 or higher, 1.2 is the current release.
