A Full Screen 3.5 #nextion

Others like myself have wished for a TFT file for the 3.5" Nextion screen that fills the whole space. While there are a few out there, they don't mirror the "original" format that we know and love (CEC version).?

This is a work in progress though it seems to work well enough to share for further tweaking.? I'm no programmer per se though by using some graphic arts thinking, I've put together the attached. There are a few little errors here and there, so, if you know more than I do or have learned something I've not fell over yet, please feel free to add corrections or tell me how to correct it.? For instance: on the page for recalling a memory entry to VFO, there is a button that should say, "READ" (top row, left of the Frequency mask). The active button is there but it's behind the background fill picture, and needs to be brought to the foreground.

This started as the widely-available "3.5" screen file that doesn't fill a 3.5" screen, and was manually increased by 150% on the horizontal axis and by 133.3" on the vertical, picture by picture and block by block, with things shifted around for spacing and fit - and the font sizes increased in most cases.? It pays to be anal-retentive and O.C.D. just sometimes.

Have fun!

Looks good. I made a few adjustments and fixed the mem screen. I want to run it on my rig before I send it back up. Are you aware of any other errors?

I have been looking for a different gui for my 3.5 as the CEC version is nice it does not fill the screen.. please keep me posted when the bugs are out?
Thanks

I haven't played with it while actually attached to a radio much, yet (been doing family stuff).? Would you please PM me with your corrected HTM file and let me know how you got the "READ" back on the Mem->VFO screen? It may help me figure out how to attack other parts.

Tnx,

Ted

Hi Ted. We actually have a lot of errors to deal with. For the read control, i just deleted it and recreated. There are a lot of sizing issues and a few missed controls. Not too bad...I got tied up on a custom screen for heavier cw controls. I'llget back to this tonight

Hey, Sam.

This was a really quick-and-dirty type deal. I mainly wanted to make things easier to see at a sit-back in the chair distance AND have the buttons react, rather than have the sensory ability 2/3 of the resized background art, i.e., avoid a 3.5" screen with 2.8"-sized touch sensor detectors buried behind somewhere.?

One might consider dropping the last decimal position. Just not sure whether it adds much, that's all.

I think once I learn how to do this Nextion design stuff (or as i/we use this to learn how), more of the menu-able options could be brought right up to the home screen of larger displays rather than simply expanding the original images to fill real estate proportionately.

I'll await to see what you come up with (and hope to learn how you got that one button returned to the foreground where it came from).

Here are a few pics of some of the bigger changes.

Nice. Those pages needed fixing, all right.

Thanks, Sam. Now, I have no special attachment to the pictures, as this was someone else's program anyway :)?? I'll put this on a screen and give it some exercise.

The S-meter hasn't been hooked up yet on this build though it will be.? Regarding art design, a tiny mushroom cloud would be a nice touch for signals above +20.

Sam,

I took the 15 seconds to hook up my S-meter and the display works just fine with booming signals.? There's plenty of travel across the meter.

Some of the digits in the frequency manual entry screen (touch freq readout on main screen & it changes to band selection/number inputs) are in the wrong place but that's easily fixed on my end.? Have you corrected or worked on anything else since Saturday?

Sam, et al

I'm sure it still needs something; here's the full 3.5 screen with manual freq entry numbers where they belong and a READ button on the "Mem->VFO" page that should work -

That's excellent! I didn't do anything further. I removed my hmi upload so it could be tested before too many people downloaded it.

Here we are with this again.

An identical screen to the original CEC 2.8" rendition, I finally got around to fixing the Memory-to-VFO and Spectrum/CW Read screens.

Many thanks for that,? maybe I can now get the second nano with the spectrum and CW screens working,? is that tft for the enhanced 3.5?? if not can you post the HMI and I can compile accordingly.?

Ray, I'm going to muck with that in the coming week. I need to pick up a few nanos.?Please keep us posted with your experiences.

How do, Ray?

That was for the basic 3.5" screen. I've attached an original HMI file and also a compiled TFT for the Enhanced, though I wouldn't blame you a bit for looking it over first.

Best of luck with the capabilities. Comments more than welcomed. It's a learning process on this end.
