ubitx ver. 3 for sale
Brian Arnott
Hi Terry,
The problem you have here is if you buy from the US, you stand a fair chance of being whacked for import tax and then vat on the total including the transport cost. ?I bought a Bitx case from India and it cost me a fortune in vat and duty almost doubling the cost. Anything under ?15 is free of duty. de Brian (G3YYT) |
Hello Terry My uBitx V3 bought everything mounted. I finish putting in a box. This rig has not received any changes from the group .io/uBibx. It is therefore a factory version. I still have to plug the microphone jack and put a coaxial cable to the antenna plug instead of the two-conductor cable supplied factory. I have never used it in broadcast. The box is a box bought from Sunnil () I attach the electret capsule provided to make a microphone. I send to this the kits of K5BCQ AGC and Anticlicks. I think 180 euros plus 20 euros for shipping.?Paypal payment preferably. hi brian i heard that if you use royal mail then you do not pay customs etc but if you use the carrier then you do. also if you are buying from a private person then they should declare it as a gift and "no resale value" commercial vendors cannot do that correct me if i am wrong terry gm4dso |
hi brian
i am interested to know whether you use india post or the carrier. hf sigs do advise not using the carrier to europe. i have hoped to buy one second hand at less than the $129 from hf sigs and quicker but i may finish up buying from hf sigs. an alternative is the qsx from qrp labs but i would have to wait until it becomes available. the qsx mono version without a box is predicted to be $75 and has a good spec 73 terry gm4dso |

The first board came direct India Post no duty, the latest one came? the same way but got stopped, Anything via Carrier is automatically dutied. As I said previously "Ya pays yer money and yer takes yer chances". Good luck with your project and a happy Hogmanay. de Brian On Sun, 30 Dec 2018 at 15:36, terry hughes via Groups.Io <terryhugheskirkcudbright=[email protected]> wrote: hi brian |
hi brian
thanks for info i have heard different stories about customs duty some people seem to have got away without paying others have paid through the nose. it seems that via a carrier you always pay but via india post it depends on wheather the customs office had a row with his wife that morning. qrp labs ship from turkey. is turkey in the EU ?? are we going to stay in the EU 73 terry gm4dso |

A monobander can't be directly compared with a GQ HF rig for value. I think the QSX will prove a better quality radio than the uBitx but the model with all the bands will cost noticeably more - at last blush Hans was estimating $150. It could be more. I intend to have one. <OFF TOPIC ALERT> Hans also has the QCX radios that are single band CW only quite a bit less than the uBitx and I think maybe a bit less than the Bitx40. The QCX also has WSPR built-in. I do not use WSPR so for me it is a single band, CW only rig. I was about to start ordering some of those when I had the chance to get a Hendricks PFR-3 at an attractive price. It needed repairs which I did *immediately* :) Now I only need the 80 meter and 17 meter QCX. I will still use the uBitx and of course, the QRO radios. 100 watts! EEYOWEE! <END OFF TOPIC> You can come out from under the bed now <evil grin>. Happy New Year and 73, Bill KU8H On 12/30/18 10:36 AM, terry hughes via Groups.Io wrote:
