By any god/s you care to name! I'd be astonished to find NZ produce cheaper overseas! What sort of upside-down system are you living in?

I would be willing to pay extra just for the chance to meet ashar.

Taxes may make the difference and it is well possible you buy goods at more favorably prices (and sometimes of better quality) outside the country. It's called microeconomics.

India is a big place.? Mumbai is about 700km from the home of the BITX.

DM - had to send reply this way as you have rigorous? Spam filtering on and private email was REJ . If you could tell me "the appropriate place? " where this trimmer should be put? (Well documented - as per a? piece of instruction arriving with the kit maybe ??) I will forward it on to him.

he is about to bundle the Bitx40? kit as Repaired by Him? so it can receive and sent it back to the buyer in Spain and tell the original buyer (of a whole set of them)? what he is working on is mostly? a crock.? He is fed? up with spending time. on it as it was a? mess in terms of performance as it came out of box. I have seen his wiring photos and it all looks nicely done and heat shrunk.? He was using the screen of? a KX3 as a spectrum analyser to diagnose things. so he is not some plumber trying to do RF wiring .? How can anyone solve problems if the on the web schematic is not up do date on this diode change out bizzo ?? ?Perhaps it is.. perhaps there are Multiple master schematics floating around ?? "you get that on the Cloud."
?
If you forward technical insights with specific URLs,? I will forward them.??
?
It is possible that the diode pair he has is defective or that it is a mixture of? silicon and schottky.? Such assymetric pairs? are made for use as PIN diodes;? what is to stop them getting onto the assly line in Mumbai. ?? All the evidence is that the diodes are being over powered in TX ;? it now works in RX ie at low diode forward current? with a MAJOR user rework.? ?since the diodes? were feeding into a CT 500R load with Pi downstream before the change? .. Do you know what changes were made on the Tx? amp section prior to BM section to ensure? diodes stayed in? ?A exp (I)? ? functional range - which is required for a diode based modulator to work ??

Hi Timothy

http://www.hfsignals.com/index.php/2017/11/23/bitx40-circuit-description/ - C103 , 3 pads between xtal and T4 on the PCB for the trimmer.

If those boards were an early batch (or you have modified) the diodes (2 with balance pot?) could well be mismatched. Replacing both should bring balance within the pot's ability, particularly if you measure them with an ohmmeter / DMM. Later versions had the ready-matched pair-in-one-package.
I've a dim recollection of BFO and VFO drive levels for the Bitx40 being discussed - they're adjustable in Raduino software for the uBitx and seem to make a difference.

You might find fragments of the diagram with specific modifications, but that one above is the 'master'.

Past messages in the Group give the info, as detailed on hfsignals site 'help'. Farhan has contributed here, researching his input would give the info 'from the horse's mouth' (as it were). development is ongoing in the Group, mainly for the uBitx but bits are applicable. Above all, READ. It's all in English (as here too), so our Spanish friends may encounter difficulties there - but if successful I'd encourage a translated site (a lot of other 'Latino' Hams would appreciate it!).

From hfsinals website:
If you need information specific to your shipping, billing and other commercial matters, you can drop us a mail to hfsignals¡¯ inbox at gmail. The mailbox is in the name of hfsignals followed by the regular gmail.com.
I feel sure an email there would gain Farhjan's attention, particularly being related to a group purchase. The boards as supplied will have a hand-written number on them; quoting those numbers will identify the batch and indicate appropriate steps - with luck replacements with latest versions, though stock may be low, the uBitx being the major production now. Who knows? I know Farhan and the whole crew are very helpful.

Mr Trager is so unimpressed he is going to package it up and send it back as is .. a single band SSB receiver.? He is fed up with wasting time and money (full set of? 12 crystals was used to select better ones than those supplied) . The schema does not match what he has. He is "over it " and So am I? though there is a solution - use a semi cond bal modulator for Tx? and direct inject into the Tx transistor and add a Mute mosfet. .... too late. TEF

Hi, I wanted to know about what is the cost of ubitx in indian rupees. And If by any chance I am travelling to Hyderabad, where can I get it? Regards.?

Hf Signals is now a USA company. It has no sales in?India as of now. This was a decision arrived at after an agonising debate. The reasons include the taxation policies of se?ling in India and abroad simultaneously from India, complicated snd unclear laws governing production of radio kits.
This unfortunate as the original aim of bitx was to provide low cost radios to Indian hams.

So, if I buy it now using website, would I have to pay customs too?? What will be the approximate custom charges. Also =you don't have any local indian place from where it can be dispatched so that the custom charges are saved? Regards

The ubitx and the sbitx are sold by the usa company. It would be illegal to not pay the duty. Anyway, the duty or the gst work out to be the same.
We are still unclear of the law hence we are not shipping to India yet.
