Corrupt ubitx files?

Trying to download a version of memory manager that might work and have had multiple versions stopped by Norton Anti Virus. It does pick up an actual virus/threat by name. Has anybody else run into this? Some files posted out there download with no problem. Does anybody have a link to a known good version of KD8CEC memory manager? The one I have, ubitx_manager1.01 will not read from or write to my ubitx.

How interesting. If it was the firmware it would be next to zero chance (if the downloaded files are still only Arduino code). Although maybe, there are enough uBITX transceivers out there that some enterprising hackers might find a way take an army of zombi uBITX bots to wirelessly send stolen BitCoins to remote regions.

But, since the manager is an executable program, I'd be cautious. Hopefully others will be able to confirm or deny if there is a problem.

Hi Bill,

I just remembered this site that that may be able to give you another datapoint. You can upload the questionable file to their site.

One of my favorite websites for reading news (a well known site) has a habit of accepting advertisers whose ads are a vehicle for delivering malware. I'm really disappointed in my Mac that it will without my permission automatically download these things. At least it stops short of automatically installing the malware.?

They are left in my downloads folder, so after renaming the filename and extension so there would not be a way to accidentally click on it and install it, I uploaded it to this site and it did identify the malware the file contained.

This was a flash update. Apparently, I needed this update because my current (disabled) version of flash did not have the latest most modern malware software in it.

Hi Tom,
I tried to put one of those files in a folder to send it to them, but Norton deleted it. Not sure how to send it. I could not copy the long link from norton. I downloaded from github ; ubitx_manager.exe. It says it was downloaded from amazonaws.com. The threat is HEUR.ADVML.C.

Still looking for a stable file that will open memory manager properly.

Just tried Ubitx manager 1.097, but still having the same problems. read from ubitx reads nothing just an error message. When I fill in a couple of boxes and hit write to, it goes through the motions, but says success =0 at the end.
I am selecting the proper port, 9600 baud, none, 8, one. this has been happening on every version. Any help???

Try another baud rate, Start with 38400 first.

Thank you Ralph!!! that worked. I had tried all the baud rates that were in the drop-down window before with no results. Once I had cleared it & entered 38400 every thing worked!
