BITX40 and uBITX Kits missing encoders for VFO! #ubitx #bitx40

I unpacked both kits and cannot find the tuning encoders or the elecret mic elements!
Has this happened to anyone else?

I just received a uBITX yesterday and I'm a total noob at this. I have a small cylinder about 1 cm in diameter and 1 cm high. Is that the electret mic? If not what is it? I do have a small rectangular piece with a knob on top and pins on the bottom, which I assume is the tuning encoder.

Bill & Mike--- the mic looks much like a pencil -eraser end with 2 solder blobs on one end, black felt on the other.. That's the end you talk into..

The encoder is less than a postage stamp square, with a knob that rotates on top.. solder? pins on the bottom..

The BITX40 uses a 10K pot for tuning...not an encoder.

Hi Doug,

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words:)

When they said that they didn't have video <sly grin>.

Good job.

Thanks, that cleared things up! So I do have both of those parts.

Bill? KG5RMJ ,
here are possible photos for rotary encoder and electret mic for easy conceptualization.
