I2C LCD mod required for CEC 1.073?

Hi All,

CEC 1.073 offers the opportunity to add up to 6 push buttons. However it is not clear to me if it is required to modify my LCD to I2C first, before I can enjoy this functionality.

You dont need to do any mods. The six resistor and buttons connect the encoder push switch.

Hi Philip,

Great! This is what I thought, but I was confused as the manual for v1072 on page 13 is saying you need to free up i/o pins before using the push buttons. Sighhhhh... software development is outpacing user manual development. The manual is very helpful though!

Ian¡¯s explanation for the 100K is that you could add more switches later (e.g. with 51K and 27K) - but the same should work in the other direction too.?

Don't go over 500K.?? The readout is too close to the normal value (255) of open switches [so I discovered!]

Start at 15k-33k-56k-128k-220k-470k.
This will give you a good spread of ADC values, and reliable switching.
I dont know why you should start at 100k.
