Help Needed downloading new uBitx software on Mac

Mike Lichtman

I am using a iMac with system 10.12.6 and cannot get a download due to not having any serial ports shown up in the IDE except for
port/dev/cu.Bluetooth-incoming Port. I already chose Arduino Nano and set the speed to 57600 for the one port I show. The Arduino
program tries 10 times, but only reports "not in sync" each time. I loaded the FTDI 2.4.2 driver it said to and hooked up the radino dial?
separate from the uBitx motherboard before starting Arduino. I also tried restarting the computer after loading the FTDI. Still no joy.
Help please. 73 Mike KF6KXG

The BITx clones use a different driver than the FTDI driver.? You need a CH340 driver from the .ch site that shows when you google.

After some more playing around with this problem, I may have the wrong cable. I am using a regular USB A to USB?
B cable. Do I need a different cable? Maybe a FTDI cable? Can someone point me to a good one online to purchase? 73 Mike KF6KXG

Some USB cables only provide power. It most cables should work (USB A to USB mini B) for the Nano clone attached to the Raduino.

Did you get the driver.? Explanation here

Mike Woods,
? ? Thank you for the answer. It was the USB A to mini B cable. It must have been like the one you described as for power only.?
I tried a thicker cable and the serial port appeared and the new firmware loaded successfully. i also downloaded the ch340 driver.
My first contact was from So. Cal to?Hawaii on 40m SSB so all is good. I learned something about cables tonight. 73 Mike KF6KXG
