New assembly

I am assembling a uBitX v6. Parts bag includes a usb to usb board and a place on the reas panel to mount it but no cable or wiring to connect it anywhere, Whats it for, can I leave it off?

That¡¯s the ¡®everything¡¯ cable between an Arduino and the rest of the world. You¡¯ll use it to update the ?bit software or anything else you might want to read from the Arduino. You may never use it, but it won¡¯t cost much to put it in.

I assume I sol;der something to something but not know what

Hi Edward,
?
There should have been a USB-A To MiniUSB-B cable in the kit.? Here is the equivalent from Amazon:
Right-angle versions are also available if you install an adapter board into the Audio 8-pin connector.

On mine, that cable plugged into the Arduino. See attached photo below.
An earlier poster wondered about the BNC/239 conundrum. My approach to that problem is also shown in the photo. True: it¡¯s not perfectly clean RF-wise, but at 30 MHz and below, I doubt that anyone could find the impedance discontinuity.

To build on what Ted, VA3YWA posted, the alternative supplied has been a board that bolts to the rear panel like this:
?
For this installation, you need one of the cables I have listed.
?
By the way, the board added to the Audio mainboard connector is an AGC/S-Meter mod that also incorporates the SotaBeam Audio DSP filter mounted to the left side of the picture.

That¡¯s impressive! I just looked at and did not identify the filter you mentioned. Is that the right place?

I¡¯ve a scratch-built audio compressor that works but I¡¯d be interested in one that really works. And then, of course, water cooling for the FETs.

It might not have been clear from this post: my ?bitx has a BNC AND a 239 connector on the back. Use one, but not both!

Hi Ted,
?
This is the one I used on the page you listed.? I used the SSB/CW GP module:

Hi Edward,
?
?
The mini end goes in the port on the side of the Nano that faces the Raduino board.?

Thanks
