10 turn pot $1 to way too much

Any recommendations on what 100k pots to buy or even better which pots not to buy given the extreme price differences.
Thanks, Willy W1LY

I pay about 2 USD for a " Mexico" 10 turn incl. shipping on Ebay

I first had a cheap BOURNS pot, it worked OK but requires more "torque" to spin the shaft.
Then I switched to a wirewound VISHAY pot, it's more expensive but it's definitely worth the money!
The VISHAY pot turns very lightly, you can spin the knob with just one finger just like the tuning knob of a commercial rig.
With the cheap BOURNS pot I needed two fingers and more force to turn the knob.

As the tuning knob is the most important control of any rig I wouldn't make comprises and go for the VISHAY.
See datasheet attached.

with the price for a VISHAY here in Denmark I think you have tried the cheap Mexico first !!!!!!!
36 USD exclude shipping

I had mine from Conrad, price was about 10 euro at the time. Yes it's more
expensive but i.m.o. it's definitely worth the money.
Try a Mexican first and then a Vishay and you'll understand.

If the A/D converter is optimized for analog signals with an output impedance of 10k or less would we not be better off with a 10k or less pot rather than a 100k pot? Willy W1ly

I bought a few of these, installed one and initially it had some static but now is clean and turns very easily.

I'm not sure which vendor I used.
