Sbitx case photos?

Can someone point me to set of photos of a v2 or v3 sbitx case that includes all 6 slides? ?Thinking about designing a 3d printable case and looking for a starting point.?

No photos, but I've modeled mine. Unfortunately, Fusion 360 appears to no longer allow native file export or sharing, unless I have a paid subscription.

Paul

If you export from Fusion 360 as an STL file that should work, I use F360 (personal free) and when I want to then slice the file ready for printing I export as an STL file then import that into the slicing software which for me is Creality Slicer

Perhaps it is because I have an educational license, but I can export fusion360 natively.

File->Export and then select "Autodesk Fusion 360 Archive Files

Do you not have this as an option? I would love to use your work!

Are you referring to exporting a F360 project as an “f3d” file? ? That can be done in all licenses. ?

My apologies. I only tried it by right clicking on the component. When choosing File>Export, I can select an archive format (.f3z), but .f3d is not there.

I can share exact mounting hole details and heatsink cutout on the PCB if anyone requires it.?

I was to get a 1mm sheet laser cut and bent for making a cabinet fot the v3 board.?

Thank you fellow hams for sharing your data in the group.?

Yes please and the PCB dimensions too.
Does the heatsink connect to ground? I wouldn't want a short to case if not.

Thanks Dave G6AWF

I too would like the measurements, a SVG file would be ideal for me.

Is it unsafe to assume the case and the heat sink are at the same potential?

All it would take is a drop of rain or a coffee/tea/soda/water spill to make such a short.

High Dave,

As supplied by HFSignals, the board has the heat sink at ground (case) potential.? There are heat-conducting insulators between the MOSFETs and the heatsink.

I share a KiCAD PCB file with the exact mounting holes and Heat Sink Cut out and a DXF file of the same

?

Hope this helps.

Mike,

That one works!

However, when i imported it, I got a "BNC connector v1" and not the case you design. Perhaps you did not selecct all the parts of the model? Or perhaps saved the file under a different name?

That's peculiar, as when I open the .f3z, I get both (as the BNC was from a separate project originally).

Mike,

Hmmm?

sounds like my problem! ?Let me confirm later when I get home

thanks for checking here!

Mike,

Yes it was my problem and I found it!? What a great job you did!??

Have you used this model yet? It doesn't look like it is yet 3d printable (without a lot of supports).?

Thanks again for providing this design!

I am wondering if you (or anyone else) can export just the white lines and circles (PCB outline and mounting holes) to SVG format?

I did get the KiCAD file to open (hint, you need KiCAD 7 not 6 which doesn't appear to exist for the Pi yet even on Bookworm) but could not figure out how to export just the white parts to a SVG file.

I need SVG since this is what my laser cutter expects.

Thank you!? These SVG files loaded correctly into Inkscape.

Attached is a zip file containing all the CAD files in this thread so far, in case this is of use to anyone else.

Thanks for the files. I have downloaded KiCad 7 and can open the pcb file. Not being familiar with KiCad am I right in saying the main board dimensions are 255 x 140 mm? Also this is the version 2 PCB, is the ver 3 PCB the same size? Is the heatsink cutout the white box size 152.6 x 81.5mm ?
Would be good to have some actual photos of the board front and back and the encoders board. I'm trying to work out if I have an existing project box I can use and how much it will cost me to get the Pi, display and possibly case.

I have the v3 PCB and I had a dry run of getting an acrylic sheet laser cut to confirm the mounting holes and PCB dimension ok.?

I was planning to get a 1mm sheet metal cut for the chasis of this project.?

I made a dxf file of this and imported it in fusion360 software, and got the holes and HS cutout data into it.?

So till then it works.?

I don't know, which way are you'll going??

I mean 3D print or Laser Cut sheet metal.?

Looking forward to hearing from you'll
