Nextion 5" Enhanced display adaptation

I am just starting to put together a ubitx v6 using a nextion 5" enhanced display. The display I bought came with a note in it that older .tft files may need recompilation, and sure enough the file I has downloaded from Hamskey would not load until I recompiled it on nextion editor - the recompiled .tft file loaded up fine, but on powering up the display I now only get the gui screen filling the top left quarter of the display (it other wise looks as expected , just too small).

I have not connected it to the arduino yet - does anyone know if the arduino firmware resizes the GUI when connected ?

Hi Tony,

The Arduino code does not change any of the screen sizes.? That is done in the Nextion.? You evidently have a smaller screen file that you used as the base to compile for the larger screen.? To get a full screen, search for a file on Mark's (AJ6CU) GitHub page:

Thanks, Evan - I did as you suggested and found the apparently correct file there, but it still gives me this result when I open up the .HMI file in Nextion editor ;

Tony.

Evan,
Apologies - please disregard my last note, a further search on the link you suggested has yielded what seems to be a working file (in Nextion editor at least)?
I will compile and install it later, and post the outcome.
Thank you for your help - it is appreciated as I get into this project.

Tony,

I assume you ended up at this directory?

it contains the 5¡± version that I created. Although I highly recommend compiling your own ?tft files, there are several recompiled ones that will just work.?

Yes indeed, I ended up in that contributed screens directory, and have since checked and compiled the HMI file using the latest Nextion editor.
Apologies for the confusion, I'm new to this project and I do sometimes find inline repositories difficult to navigate.
I will try to install on the display later on this evening and post the outcome.

Thanks again,

So I transferred the compiled file on to my new 5" E device, and all seems well.
Now on to putting the Raduino together and checking out the rest of the control hardware - I am building in a Amateur Radio Kits case from India, and will post again later in the build.
Thanks again for everybody's kind assistance.
