Hi! A pack of 500 with me too just in case. Got some surplus (100+) prewounded Balun transformers imported ,Japanese. Just for the core alone. Possibly of slightly better core quality than the

Binocular cores
There was mention that Farhan was going to make a quantity of the binocular cores available to the list. Has anything come of this ?. I'm just about to start construction of the BITX20, hardest part

Re: CW,T/R pop, modifications
John The decoupling cap on pin-6 of the LM386 would probably not be the culprit causing a short oscillation during the change over from Tx to Rx, as originally described. Take a good look at the

CW,T/R pop, modifications
Thanks Chris, Arv and Ashhar for comments and advice re the squeak. I have checked and the relevant diode is in place. I removed the decoupling electrolytic cap. from pin 6 of the LM386.

Re: your request for help converting the BITX20 SSB transceiver to CW mode operation.
Felipe Do you now have a working BITX20 operating on SSB mode? My suggestion is that you complete and test the SSB version of a BITX20 first. Then we will work on what you need to do to add CW

Re: CW, T/R pop, modifications
Farhan We already have a zener diode varactor in the VFO, to provide fine tuning. It's action isn't very linear: the fine tuning control has much more effect at one end of the VFO range than the

Re: First real QSO with 150 mW
John & Chris I just took a good look at the schematic, and it seems that the Mike amp's 50 MFD decoupling capacitor (the one connected to 12 V via a 220 ohm resistor) may be storing enough voltage to

Re: First real QSO with 150 mW
I too have the same problem, maybe worse because I'm using a VOX driving my switchover relays and it affects the VOX setting. My fix for the symptom was to add a relay and switch the speaker lead

Re: First real QSO with 150 mW
Hi, I have the same experience. I thought it has someting to do with the way I switch over, three wires with clamps between the circuit and a switch, but it seems that it is a timing problem? So now

Re: First real QSO with 150 mW
Progress at this end is slower than hoped but the rx is now working very well. Two minor points. 1. The middle section of the band pass filter needed a bit more reactance. An extra 10pf across the
