Re: QRP 40 meter frequency 7.285 MHz SUNDAY
I don't have my bitx yet, but I'm going to try to listen for you guys.
Curious how you'll sound on the air.
I'm in Wisconsin.

PC Program to control the Si5351A
Hello All:
I have some of the development boards with the Si5351A similar to the
Adafruit units. These have a direct interface to the Si5351A in the I2C
format. I have a USB to I2C adapter that

QRP 40 meter frequency 7.285 MHz SUNDAY
I will be monitoring the QRP 40 meter frequency 7.285 MHz tonight from
about 6:30 pm local (Eastern).
Hope to make some contacts with other BITX. I think that the earlier time
will work better for

Re: Handheld Radioshack mike for BITX
Just to keep youir options open, let me describe what I did with a Radio
Shack CB mic.
I desolders all of the connections to the push-to-talk switch, measured the
terminals for closed when pushed, and

Re: Bitx40 SI5351 drive strength
Careful adjusting the drive strength as it is meant to be into a 50 ohm load.
Using the buffer sometimes decreases the output due to mismatch. Only way to tell is to measure it with a scope.

Re: Bitx40 SI5351 drive strength
I was thinking that Q7-9 may be distorting the signal, creating more noise
and raising the noise floor.
I know that diode mixers require 7 dbm drive. But I will put in the filter
before the

Re: Bitx40 SI5351 drive strength
Ken, this is the third Si5351 VFO I have built and I left them all at 8ma, and doesn't appear to be over driving the mixer. Remember, it's a passive diode mixer which requires more drive anyway

Re: BITX 40 - DDS right connection
I made successfull QSO with dds vfo.
I add a 9850 based vfo plus a 2 x 2n2222 buffer amplifier to increase dds output signal.
I connect the vfo to external input pin of bitx 40, before I removed

Bitx40 SI5351 drive strength
To Joel
Thanks for the filter link. Also interested in the analyzer on this link
To All
Currently I have the drive strength set to 8ma for the SI5351. Since it's
being amplified/buffered by Q7-Q9,

Re: Narrow bandwidth filter
Hi!
Interesting Miguel. Your 12Mhz 3khz filter in the second link looks good for present BITX40- V3 radios. We can try playing around with the emitter bypass resistor value reducing it to 5.6E to

Box idea for BitX40
Haven't actually mounted it in yet, but the BK1068 plastic wicker storage box (bought from a local discount store for $2) just fits the BitX40 board. There's also about 2 or 3cm clearance at the end.

What is the present bandwidth with the 100pf. I don't mind it at all.

Re: Narrow bandwidth filter
you can open up the filter bandwidth. replace the 100pf caps with 68pf.
that should put it to a 3khz wide bandwidth. you can keep playing around
with those caps.
