Re: R: Re: [BITX20] BITX40 Sensitivity
I haven't watched the video (at work, no sound) but when I did my test I did it the same way Raj did. CW and tune off a bit as if you were working a CW contact. I was able to get -130 but not much

Re: R: Re: [BITX20] BITX40 Sensitivity
What is that modulation he is using? My generator does not have that. So far I can't get my BitX to get much below -105 dBm? How his works to -140 is amazing! I have been using AM modulation and

Years a go there was a 10m mast that was good but not low priced made by DK2SQ I got one in the 90's was still using it till the strong winds killed it last year I believe you can get them in the us

I have built a dozen boards lately with the SI5351 and a Tiny Crystal. Lots of problems. I made a way to test the parts before finishing the board. I install just the I2C parts and hook to another

Adrian, I use extra strong glasses and lots of light. I flux the area and use a tweezer to put in place and while holding the chip down i just tack one pin. I let it cool and solder the remaining

I looked too at the fishing poles. I would bet they are all of the same "crappyness". I doubt if any are much better than others? Maybe all made by the same Manf? I may find the Jack pole you

Re: BITX40 Sensitivity
If you got real 50 Ohms, the Attenuator is usually 50 Ohms in dB (Power). You can calculated it. But you have to know what is coming out of the generator. You can convert between power and uV with P =

Unfortunately the 7.2 meter is sold out. The next shorter one is 6.3 meters. There are others on eBay in the 7.2 meter length for $10-$12. Not sure of the quality though. I have the 31 foot Jackite

Re: BITX40 Sensitivity
Use a step or a bunch of fixed attenuators. 2mv is -41dbm. Raj and I were still hearing our generators at -130 (which is 0.07uv). See if you can find 3 30db fixed attenuators and you'll be good. Then

Re: BITX40 Sensitivity
But... If I use an attenuator that is "analog"... How am I going to know the amount of microvolts that I am iinjecting into the BITX?
By C¨¦sar EA3IAV <Cesarleon@...> · #29629 ·
Re: BITX40 Sensitivity
That one is still going to require attenuation. The lowest it puts out is 2mv and you're going to need .1uv or less for sensitivity measurements. Vince. -- Michigan VHF Corp. http://www.nobucks.net/
