Here is the schematic ... Assumes phantom power (~8V DC) is on the Mic Audio line.? Can be sky wired and shrink wrapped into a small assembly with fly leads that will fit inside of many dynamic mic bodies.

Baofeng Speaker MIC on Bitx 40

Need Information (help) wiring a Baofeng speaker? MIC to my Bitx 40. Don't really want to use the MIC speaker, will probably just use the 2.5 mm socket un-wired for the speaker plug. So asking about the wiring to the MIC.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys, it may have already been posted but I would like to take a look at the mic amplifier circuit. I'm also interested in building a low noise audio pre-amp. Dale kg7ssb

Hi Dan,

I can¡¯t give you a link I am afraid. I brought it from the electrical retailer, Maplin, in their bankruptcy sale early this summer.

If you can get hold of a similar size case, it is quite a simple matter to add to the depth of the top and sides in CAD software. Just be careful not to increase the size by using drag handles of the object as everything else then becomes too big!

Good luck and be sure to post some pics of your own version!

Re: CAT control #arduino #ubitx

I had it running on 1.097 and it was working with my old laptop just fine, recently loaded V1.1 and also no problem.?
As the loads are the same and only differs in naming you should be fine.

Mike,

Glad to hear the preamp is working well with the uBITX ... I originally designed it for the Icom radios but was thinking there might be other radios out there that are setup for Electret mics that it would help with as well.? The 1uF cap value is not critical ... It is there for DC blocking and the value was chosen to keep from rolling off the bass response of the microphone.? I probably could have gone smaller but I had a bunch of 1uF monlythics in my parts inventory and decided to use that value.

I'm currently building a uBITX and will plan to use the mic shown in the QST photo for that radio.

Re: Raduino clicking when microphone is connected or keying CW. #ubitx-help #radiuno

Also, an update to my initial post, the tone I experienced when keying cw was a result of poor construction practice. I had the resistor connected directly to the tip connection along with the blue wire. I backed it off, added a length of wire to the lead of the resistor and joined it with the blue wire on the tip connection. Everything seems fine now, and I buttoned her up for good measure.

Many thanks to this community, looking forward to making some QSOs and, more importantly, modifiying and learning.

Re: Raduino clicking when microphone is connected or keying CW. #ubitx-help #radiuno

Jim,

I have attached an image of the wiring of my microphone for reference. I had ordered extra jacks due to a much earlier construction mistake, so I had some extra to do this with. I wired the microphone to the tip connection and the ground, with the PTT switch connected to the ground lead in the middle. The other lead on the switch is wired to the ring connection in the jack. I connect it to the radio with a male to male plug you can commonly find at convenience stores. The radio side is wired purple to tip, orange to ring, and blue to ground. It looks like your connections are reversed as mine were initially.

Hope this helps, 73,

CW Zero Beat

Hello all

I have been working on a few projects and one of them is ready

I don't know if anyone would be interested in a CW Zero Beat but I have 9 in kit and 1 built for testing in the video. If more people are interested I will make more, seeing as this is a CW only item I did not want to be sitting on 100 of them with no interest.

They are 13$ shipped US or 13$+actual shipping outside conus.

I can build them for you for 2$ extra or only solder the surface mount and allow you to build your own.

J1-Power in 9-12V

RV1- Audio in adjustment

J2- Audio in

RV2- Center Freq Adjustment

?

Questions please e-mail me direct @ dherron at live dot com

?

I am also working on a new digital controlled audio level project (AGC) and hope to have more info soon but we are only in the prototype stage at this time.

Re: To shield or not to shield, that is the question.

I put my bitx40 in a metal "collectors" Star Wars tin I had kicking around (I say "collectors" because they're not really collectible -- they sold millions of 'em, and my friend had a pallet's worth in his garage). The metal is a bit thin, leading to some flexing when you plug/unplug peripherals, but it's just the right size and easy to work with, while providing some shielding.

Plus it looks kinda neat, even if my fabrication skills are lacking.

Re: 7.277mHz Sunday Afternoon

Imho, many hams have ceased to operate the ubitx until they make the mods to be fully compliant. Others just like to test the board to learn and experiment. Last weekend many active ops were busy for the cqwwcw contest. The 40m band also is not that wide outside North America, in Europe we cannot go beyond 7200, so having two rarely used separate frequencies one for NA and one for the outside does not help. Personally I would operate at or around 7177mhz, regardless of the CQ zone, the time and the day of the week.

Re: 7.277mHz Sunday Afternoon

Yes Vic and I had a nice qso. I listened on and off after that but quit when I was getting an AM carrier.?

Vic said that he used his bitx40 as a mobile rig at times. I found that very interesting. Perhaps you would start a thread on that.?

I do monitor 7277 at times.?

My rig is usually my ubitx v3? I run the finals at 20 volts Have a new 1000 foot loop antenna.?

Re: uBitx Go Box 3d print

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Thanks Tom. I recently printed one of the paddle keys from Thingiverse and one of the uBitx mikes.?

One thing I did that was useful was print a fly fishing reel and I have installed a 66¡¯ long wire on it marked at points with heat shrink sleeving. I can unwind the right amount of wire as an EFHW then for very band from 40 to 10.?

I can recommend the Prusa printer. I built mine from the kit which was straightforward and a good experience.?

Cheers

Daimon.?

That is a very nice design. The outer case looks like the case I bought at Harbor Freight. I was thinking about mounting the uBITX and a Raspberry Pi in it, also. I just bought a 3D printer, I may go with your design. Although, I'll likely mount the uBITX board to an aluminum plate and add a little shielding.?

By the way here is another interesting 3d case design I saw while I was poking around for uBITX and Amateur Radio things on Thingiverse.?

Judging from the number of uBITX things I saw, it looks like the people that hang out on this group are just the tip of the iceberg of the number of people that are doing things with uBITXs.?
