Curt, Why even both with uBitx as your designing a one of and can do it more directly for the bands of interest. The real problem is Synth for LO and power amps as at those frequencies they aren't

Re: Ideas for homebrew rig for digital modes on VHF/UHF
Dual TX and RX is a lot of circuits but fairly simple SSB.? Untill you hit 435 and 145mhz then it gets complicated and amps for that are never cheap even at the 10W level. The bigger thing is you

No. The ATMega328P has a 16mhz ceramic resonator, as shown in the Banggood photos. The CH340G has a 12mhz ceramic resonator of the same physical appearance. ?

one can imagine how a ubitx? configuration could be applied to 144 and 432 MHz SSB, and support digital modes.? but its a decent amount of circuitry.? in support of satellite operation - better to

Well, technically you're right, it has a 16mhz ceramic resonator, not a crystal. The resonator is that little dinky thing just north of the square 32 pin processor chip in the banggood photos. That

Interesting experiment!? The uBITX receives nicely as is, at least on the bands that are propagating now.? I see it is a beefy, high current amplifier - 2n5109.? It is the same device as used in

Appropriate FET's can switch low level RF. But it's usually PIN diodes or relays when switching power at the output of a transmitter. Google "1n4007 as pin diode TR switch" for ideas on how it gets
