SBit V4 Thoughts
These are just things to think about.? I am making some presumptions here, based on the way I am interpreting emails I am seeing.? If any facts are wrong, I stand corrected. The current 64-bit

Re: zBitx power draw
Hi, Indeed. I wonder if you can set up the wifi network from a wpa_supplicant in the boot partition? In any case, definitely keep me posted on it. Pretty exciting! -- Buddy Brannan, KB5ELV, WRVB670 -

sBITX 64 bit and V4 upgrade
Is there one place where instructions for swapping to a 64bit pi and installing the V4 are located. I'm an old geezer, but new to this Groups thing, I poked around but only found a lot of fragments to

Mouse & Monitor Help
So I finally was able to chase down enough cables and a micro USB hub to hook up to a HDMI monitor, mouse and keyboard and got it all working along with connection to my laptop over wifi. My question

Re: Raspberry Pi desktop on internal display
If you want to see the Pi desktop on a small display, you could try running VNC or a Remote Desktop on your mobile phone, and connect to the Pi via WiFi or ethernet adapter. ?73, Ron, n6ywu

Re: zBitx power draw
Yep, sure did, it arrived yesterday. Can't do the initial setup w/o sighted assistance though, so have to wait until I can get some help with that, but after that's done, I can certainly either use it

Re: Raspberry Pi desktop on internal display
HI! I would like to have an option to turn off the LCD and RP pico. This way it would work with an external monitor with less noise and lower power consumption. Ryan Wesolowski via groups.io

Re: Raspberry Pi desktop on internal display
I installed nomachine on my zbitx and on my cell phone so I can run the desktop without a HDMI monitor attached. A little small compared to a full size monitor but it works for me. A question for the

Re: Raspberry Pi desktop on internal display
Joerg explained very well why this isn't possible, but I'm curious why you want that option? I *think* (or maybe *suspect*) that you get the RPi Zero 2 W desktop on an external device via WiFi and,

Re: Raspberry Pi desktop on internal display
The short answer is NO. The long answer: Currently the sBitx code on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W communicates through a custom protocol via I2C to the Raspberry Pi Pico, that controls the display. This

Re: add a wifi network to zbitx
I just added my phone to the Wifi config using the desktop. It now recognizes both my home network and my phone mobile hotspot. Had to reboot the zBitx to switch between the networks though. 73 Frank

Re: zBitx power draw
Thanks, Richard for adding. Certainly diodes in SERIES will drop the voltage by approximately 0.7V each (if silicon diodes) In parallel, it is a little different because the diodes are NON LINEAR

Re: FT8 time differential - how to resolve?
Miguel, It is not necessary to install any newer version of hamlib as the wsjt-z configure script will check if hamlib is installed and use whatever version it finds. Leo, AI5II [email protected]>

When calculating transmitter power efficiency of a transceiver, on usually subtracts out the idle power requirements of receive mode. 73, Ron, n6ywu

Re: zBitx power draw
To be clear: diodes in parallel will lessen the voltage drop, same as with resistors in parallel. Diodes in series will increase the drop, ie one silicon diode will drop the voltage by 0.7v, two will

Re: FT8 time differential - how to resolve?
Miguel For the zBitx - WSJT-X, WSJT-Z , fldigi and other Pi apps need an external monitor, mouse and keyboard. The zBitx display is managed by the Pico Pi, so there is no usual Pi desktop display. The
