Re: sBitx #065
I've been down this road a few times as a development engineer.? That means I have been burnt a few times and know to look. The box has a really good finish and its durable (powder coat) that makes

Re: Sbitx #165 received today, thoughts.
Evan, That only works in a RTOS or loop constructed non os.? This is linux and loops can be constructed but they are interupted by process timer and system priority levels.? The system can suspend

Re: Use driver stage as PA. #sBitx
The reason assuming wired correctly the 510s failed is the same as the irfz24s, transmitter oscillation.? you may have a bad relay K9 or U3 failure as well. Allison ------------------ Please use the

Re: Suddenly no receive on my sBitx - what are steps required to resolve this?
Butch, U3 in combination is to both switch the antenna to the recieve path AND isolate the transmitter output from the receiver during transmit. IF either is not there or not working right you either

Re: Gtk-WARNING: cannot open display (./sbitx)
Hi John, If it were me, I would get another microSD card, download the image from Ashhar Farhan's web page and see if that works.? It could be that the code specific to the RPi4 is corrupted, and the

Re: Gtk-WARNING: cannot open display (./sbitx)
You need to configure the wm8731 and the snd-aloop for sbitx to work on a fresh install. Follow the instructions in install.txt

Re: Gtk-WARNING: cannot open display (./sbitx)
Hi John, I haven't posted anything on your issue recently because I¡¯m just out of ideas. A new SD card with a new OS on it would have been my suggestion, which you¡¯ve done. The issue you¡¯re

Re: uBITX v6 -AGC and S-Meter
I have built both versions of the S-meter ?- my uBITX currently has the second Nano version fitted, but I also made the option using the LM-358 chip. Both work although you do need to add the

Re: Suddenly no receive on my sBitx - what are steps required to resolve this?
Ashhar, I hate to ask stupid questions but now that I think I understand what U3 is doing, why is it there at all ? simply connecting the RX relay side if C14 to the U3 pin 3 side of C4 and removing

Re: Suddenly no receive on my sBitx - what are steps required to resolve this?
Ashhar, No I have not tried putting the antenna directly to c94 yet. Today my radio is receiving static and noise even on dummy load. Intermittent problems are so hard to troubleshoot

Re: Suddenly no receive on my sBitx - what are steps required to resolve this?
Ashhar, I was just reading the specs on U3. It says in the specs, The break?before?make select circuitry prevents disruption of signals on the B Port due to both switches temporarily being enabled

Have you tried connecting the antenna directly to c94?

Re: Suddenly no receive on my sBitx - what are steps required to resolve this?
Ashhar, My unit ch0128 goes from working normally to not receiving any signals to red to yellow on the waterfall even when on a dummy load.? It still receives stronger signals when its yellow.

Re: Gtk-WARNING: cannot open display (./sbitx)
Shout out to K3NG (and thanks for your efforts) just to let you know that your sbitx code also gets stuck when the process is trying to start up. Again this is with the original RPi 4 and a new

Re: Use driver stage as PA. #sBitx
Unwind one turn from the PA secondary like Allison has recommended. I would also reduce the 10 ohms (two paralleled 22 ohm resistors) to 47 ohms by snipping off the resistor leads from one side and

Re: Use driver stage as PA. #sBitx
I tried the 510 but they went bad very quick. What changes would you recomend if using 510 in place of the irfz24?

Re: Use driver stage as PA. #sBitx
At these power levels, the IRF510 gain will be much better as it has half the internal capacitance of the IRFZ24N

Re: Use driver stage as PA. #sBitx
I did not modify t5. Looking into other designs, they use broadband transformer on the input. Later will try it.
