Re: uBITX and ft8
JS8Call is a major upgrade to the FT8 type schemes. You can exchange actual content beyond ?FT8 call/grid/etc.
And the msg control functions are amazing. Store and forward, acknowledgments, defined

Re: Bitx40 main board
Also, it sounds like you got a very early one with the analog VFO. If you are going to use a DDS (highly recommended!) then just remove the L4 inductor which is the yellow toroid right in the middle

Re: Bitx40 main board
You don't need the Raduino. You can use the QRP Labs VFO kit:

I used one of these for a long time with mine, really liked it :)

*Hello,

Alex,
Always best practice to have a low pass filter after the amplifier.? In my rig, the PA comes just before the LPF. It is already built.

You might want to consider putting band pass/low pass filter on the output
- push-pulls are known for being "dirty" with third order harmonics. At 16
watts, I doubt you would get in too much trouble,

You might check out JS8call:

Re: uBITX and ft8
Well, it's a good way to check out propagation conditions and, as Don said, to verify that your rig is working.

Re: uBITX and ft8
Does anyone consider FT8 a useful mode to exchange any information beyond callsign, grid square, and signal strength?
