Re: Farhan VU2ESE'sTwo Tone Generator
Looking at the schematic of the output combiner, are you really using 150 ohm resistors for a 50 ohm system? Every similar output combiner I have ever build for a 50 ohm system has 50 ohm

Re: Farhan VU2ESE'sTwo Tone Generator
Are you sure your oscillascope is not on 10x vs 1x? It seems to be exactly
10 times down. Check some dc voltages with the scope and the bandwidth
settings too.

Bit hard to tell from the photo, but is the transformer wired correctly?

Re: Farhan VU2ESE'sTwo Tone Generator
Hi Ashhar,
At the oscillator emitter the voltage is 72mV peak-to-peak.
At the amp collector it is about 9mV
Both with a 49.9 ohm load. Something is quite wrong now, the max output is only 5mV at the

Chris
It seems that there may be room for some modification of the BITXMAP
software.
If it were coupled to a remote receiver or one of the beacon receiver
systems it
might be possible to make BITXMAP

Re: Farhan VU2ESE'sTwo Tone Generator
Elia,
40 mv is really low. Can you measure the rf voltage at oscillator emitter
and collector of the amp?

Re: Farhan VU2ESE'sTwo Tone Generator
I love seeing builds like this! Dave Richards, AA7EE, carries it to an art form (notice Han's BPF in the photo):
A visit to his site is just plain enjoyable to me.

Farhan VU2ESE'sTwo Tone Generator
Hi everyone,
I started building the two tone rf generator from Farhan's www.vu2ese.com ( http://www.vu2ese.com ) site to add to my test equipment. I have finished the first section (ie oscillator #1)

Re: Carrier Oscillator Feedthrough Question - Si5351
There are two photos, one for each of the two signal sources as well as two spectra photos.? When I compare the two, the one from the Si5351 seems to have more steps and is more jagged than the one

Re: Carrier Oscillator Feedthrough Question - Si5351
Assuming I'm reading the scope photo correctly, it could be that bandwidth of the scope was set to 20mhz. With an 11mhz signal the scope would likely already rounding off a square wave signal. At

My thoughts keep coming back to the Si5351 output waveform. On an
oscilloscope
it looks like a clipped sine wave. Does that indicate that the Si5351 may
be looking
into an open when the diodes

Re: Carrier Oscillator Feedthrough Question - Si5351
I believe the mixer under discussion may be a two diode mixer where the audio is modulating the carrier as DSB. The pot or DC injection should still be valid things to try. Actually better as only two
