Re: SI labs generator chip which has an FM input pin
When I was a kid, a friend and I discovered that a battery operated toy motor made a "nice" transmitter. We decided to get on the air. We strung the longest antenna we could, attached the antenna to

Re: uSDX
Justin, Do you know what version of the board you ordered? I see there is a version 1.02 that seems to be the newest. I guess they had some problems with the v1.01 but they¡¯re fixed in version

Re: Rf it's "freezing" the Ubitx ???
Andrea, To verify that it is an rf problem, connect it to a dummy load and see if the same thing happens. I solved my issues with snap on ferrites on all lines connected to the uBITX including the

Or - a bit less intrusive - beef up the bypassing on the power leads. Also the key input lead. Maybe a cap across your key? - Jerry KF6VB

Re: SI labs generator chip which has an FM input pin
Jerry and others, I'm wondering if using the old RTTY technique of a varactor diode to pull an oscillator a few hundred Hertz for changing the Mark and Space frequencies, but actually using Audio to

Enclose the board in a metal box or make sure you have a balanced antenna.

Re: SI labs generator chip which has an FM input pin
Yes, doing digital writes to update the si5351 for FM modulation was mentioned in that old thread: /g/BITX20/topic/6256856#34064 But updating fast enough to get good audio would be a

Justin I made the same choice for through hole. I built the earlier Barb variant with plug in band boards using a Si5351 module board. -- 73 Bob? KD8CGH

Re: SI labs generator chip which has an FM input pin
A neater way would be to read the modulating audio from an adc pin and program it to update the frequency of the si5351 very quickly. I believe usdx does that ti generate FM.
