Re: Calibration needed ? #calibration #v6
In my experience, you will leak unless you calibrate the BFO to only allow high treble to pass (sound super tinny). The diodes on the mixers just aren't balance well enough to stop the carrier

Calibration needed ? #calibration #v6
Hi Folks, I am using my uBitx with NKK linear. I have reduced the power by using RV1. I have calibrated both BFO and Frequency by watching Mr. Ashaar's video. If I increase the drive to 7-8w to get

Re: Si5351 voltage output #arduino
If you are using a 20MHz oscilloscope for measuring the 40-70MHz square wave, you are more likely seeing the loss in the amplifier gain in the scope than genuine drop in si5351 output. This might be a

uBitx V5 can't make a contact on ft8
I just got things set up to try to do some FT8 with my uBitx v5. I am new to HF in general and have yet to make a QSO. I can receive fine, but?pskreporter.info says only 6 reports for my about an

Find an older style Raduino #raduino
I'm working on the idea of changing my BitX20 to 10 meters.? It was suggested that it would be a lot easier with a Raduino - and I've found a bit of information that might help me as far as the other

Hi, There is also the question of the load and it's bandwidth. I got bit by all of those "features" decades ago. 73, Bill KU8H -- bark less - wag more

Re: Si5351 voltage output #arduino
Right Mr Tom , i'm using 1:1 scope probe, and the bandwidth specified for the scope is 20MHz.

Re: uBitx v5 no reception
take an alligator clipped jumper wire and bypass the LPF section - get as close to the receive mixer as possible - and see if you have signals. idea number 2 is that the LO is not getting from the PLL

Re: Heatsink question #v6
I have not done this yet, but I am so tempted to add a small fan - but only use it when running digital modes.? For CW and SSB I sense the small heat sinks are just fine. 73 curt

Re: Heatsink question #v6
The individual heatsinks are cost-cutting and ease-of-manufacture measures. They are necessary because the mounting tabs are directly screwed to their heatsinks and so electrically connected. Mounting

Re: Heatsink question #v6
No, the drains are connected to different ends of the output transformer.? Just add an isolation pad and screw insulator and you can mount them both to the same and even grounded heatsink.

Luis, On the mention of the decode of CW, I think it is all about the settings of the radio on the cw signals. I think maybe we have to learn how to set it to decode cw, perhaps incorporate a filter,
