Re: cannot trust any version or any mod.
Mike I think some frustration indeed but I trust you will indeed get this unit working to your expectation and within FCC specs. What I would suggest is you work on that with as few additions as

two capacitors: one ceramic or other cheap one, anywhere from .0047 to .1 microfarad the other an electrolytic, anywhere from 10 uf to 100 uf both across the power wires, as close to the board as

Re: New V5 with poor carrier suppression.
In addition to the residual carrier, the uBitx also has significant IMD and some opposite sideband, though that should all be close in to your main signal and more or less legal anywhere AM phone is

Re: ubitxv5, a tip
This is a critical bit of information regarding how best to set up a uBitx, should be in the hfsignals description of the uBitx. Many here are just turning up mike gain and/or RV1 for max power,

Re: The Iambic Mouse
Only been a ham for a year but am near 70. Can see the point of slapping the hand one way or the other when I get old enough. A computer mouse has some interesting parts in it. Have thought about

Re: ubitxv5, a tip
Hi Ashhar, Been following this for some time I think I remember someone talking about changing q11 and q31 to a pnp and getting more gain. Then a couple of weeks ago another ham mentioned that his v5

Re: The Iambic Mouse
Jack, I agree with you. As a ham of 45 years you are exactly right, however,? you cannot deny that using the mouse in that manner is unique and embodies true ham radio spirit.

Re: The Iambic Mouse
Dave: I may be way off base here, but I would discourage you from using a mouse as a keying system. First, when you get to be two years younger than dirt, fingers just don't work like they used

Re: cannot trust any version or any mod.
In the 70's I was a radio tech (marine and business ) I was an electronics teacher. What I am trying to say is I am perfectly able to get the radio working which is why I am not selling it until I do.

Re: cannot trust any version or any mod.
Avoid the self-induced stress and tell us a price. Most of us are more than capable of making this radio perfectly legal and reliable.

ubitxv5, a tip
the ubitx has more gain on tx as well as rx than the previous boards. this is due to the BFR93w transistors in the 45 MHZ IF in place of the 2N3904s. The carrier and spurs will be appear to be higher

Re: What have I done to the receive? Weird screech? #ubitx
Something is possibly oscillating and something is the demodulating most likely ; sounds like you have created a regenerative receiver!! Maybe add filter capacitor close to the unit between the power
