Yes, attenuates signals on receive by positioning them on the skirt of the 45mhz crystal filter.
Might also be used for SSB transmit ALC if you are into that.
Idea originated with VK2ETA

No not for calibration. It is to attenuate strong signals. I get a lot of powerful stations that saturate the audio Thanks for agreeing with me Evan.

The attenuator varies from 0-254
If you switch over to the nextion display it becomes a slider on the main screen. Too loud just slide it to the right. Beats digging through the menus.

Firstly I am thinking socket or plug wiring problem. Check by directly connecting a speaker to the two speaker leads from the board.
Next maybe some component failure in audio amp.

When built and tested on air, V4 uBITx,? I had good audio from the speaker and good audio on transmit.. I could never get the supplied socket to work for me. I just pushed the speaker mono plug
