Have you tried it with the stock firmware? When I rebuilt the last one with the last 1.1version, The display locked up until I went back to 1.08 cec firmware with the stock display and it came alive

Checked encoder signals at the connector on the cpu board. The correct 5v to 0v transitions are there.
