PA breaking into oscillation? (uBitx)
Problem with my scratch-built uBitx. Can¡¯t get more than about 4W PEP on 40m, and 1W PEP on 20m without having what I think is the PA breaking into oscillation. SYMPTOMS: SSB: When I key the PTT

Should have worded the opening a bit different. This new board replaces the Raduino and makes NO repeat NO modifications to the main uBITX transceiver's main board. It only adds much more programming

Re: Should we adopt the KD8CEC firmware?
Hi Ash, I vote for keeping the out-of-the-box firmware simple. I¡¯m enjoying playing with KD8CEC¡¯s version but prefer the ¡®feel¡¯ of yours, especially tuning. Thanks for some fine work on the

Ian, I am glad this got your attention. The software if very impressive. I think we can take forward the attenuation hack (I really can't describe it as anything but a beautiful hack) worked very well

Mike, I may be missing something basic here.? Or maybe I need to clarify what I liked about Ashhar's general coverage behavior.? Ian's manual says: "When? Band? Select? is? displayed,? by?

Ashhar Farhan and all I have seen various opinions of various OMs. I think that even being mentioned is an honor. Whether the firmware will be replaced to v1.06 or not, retained original firmware, or

Re: boosting the power on 28 MHz

Does the cap provide output leveling or increased output from 80m to 10m? I mainly operate 80m, 40m, and a little 20m. The output there seems to be fine for what I do. tim ab0wr "K9HZ"

Partition the code so the keyer or CAT stuff or whatever can be ifdef'd out. Then experimenters will have plenty of room to play. Jerry

I just put mine at the base of T11 but there are many ways of doing it depending the type of part you use... I also replaced T11 but let's not go there yet. Dr. William J. Schmidt - K9HZ J68HZ 8P6HK

How do you recommend doing that? A disc ceramic between IRF510 pins? Can you get an smd cap between the pins on the bottom of the ckt board? tim ab0wr "K9HZ" <bill@...> wrote:

Re: uBITX drive level..

I would think you could get more than 5watts out on 80m. You might still try an antenna tuner between your ubitx and the dummy load. It's possible the ubitx wants something other than a 50ohm

Yes, it is a model. 1. One could measure the power sent to the antenna and then measure the RF voltage across the load resistor, and compute the power dissipated on the load resistor presuming that it
