Re: BITX40 night
Hi Doug, Trap dipole 10 feet straight across East /West. originally was at 38' but the very high winds took the 4x4 and snapped it off at the base. Hope to reinstall this summer 73 WA9DOH Larry

Strange night on the BitX net yesterday, solid contacts with W1LY and AD0RW, Rhode Island and Iowa from Cleveland Ohio off the ends of my dipole? An almost-contact with KC9LIF but static crashes

Hi, I was able to QSO with Willy W1LY who had great audio. ?I could hear other stations that were able to contact him, but not well enough to QSO. I made a couple of CQs but no one other than Willy

Had a good solid contact with W1LY. Could hear KC8WBK and VE1BWV, but not well enough to contact them. Still have more work to do here. Antenna is a hamstick dipole in the attic, which I haven't

White noise with power removed
Is it normal to have power removed an hear a steady hiss through headphones?? I've been checking and re-checking the wiring that I've done, and I cant see where this would happen, nor did I think it

Yep I cheated, but I got one tonight. I heard Rick WB0NPM on WebSDR south of San Francisco. And was only able to detect a faint voice from him here in Oklahoma City with my BITX40. I just can't seem

Was looking around the band and could see propagation was down... But I could hear a few others beside W1LY , just the others were not quite strong enough to work. Maybe better conditions another
