New to group -- exploring multiband capabilities
Hello all, A couple of questions to bounce off all -- since the IF is 12Mhz (maybe change to 10.7 to get it further from 20m), couldn't 20-10 meters use the mixer sum, instead of difference, and this

Hi again. I searched the site but couldn't find an answer to my new problem. The radio has been working just fine for awhile now. However after trying a few qso's with strong stations, I realized that

Re: LPF and multi-band operation
Ah, you already tried that. OK in that case you have no choice other than to remove the caps. 73, Allard PE1NWL

Re: Problem with demaged BITX40
It looks like women who make BITX40 instead of L1. L2, L3 bandpass filter solder coils used in VFO ..... after reducing 10 turns of each coil L1, L2, L3 my BITX40 works in RX and TX as it should ....

Re: 25 volts and output wattage
Sure. ?In theory you could crack open the IRF510 package and cool the die with liquid nitrogen. ?In practice, much easier to go with multiple devices. ? I suggest you copy the push-pull IRF510 amp

Re: LPF and multi-band operation
Alternatively you can increase the VFO drive by software, add the following line to the setup() routine: si5351.drive_strength(SI5351_CLK2, SI5351_DRIVE_8MA); 73, Allard PE1NWL

Adding speech compression.
I have been reading stuff here about low power or audio for about 3 months now because my BITX40 was factory set to low power (drawing .024 mA at the final during wireup), output and also sounded like

Re: 25 volts and output wattage
Could in theory we go higher than 25 watts or would that blow a circuit? Say 36 watts with enough cooling to get maybe 40w or more out?

Re: LPF and multi-band operation
Remove C91, C92 from the Bitx40 if you have not already, they bleed away too much of the VFO energy when the VFO is much over the stock frequency of 5mz. ?Those caps are only required if using the
