Re: Bitx40 low volume oscillation squeal
Graham Are you using the original volume control that came with the Bitx40? 73 Ken VA3ABN

Re: am broadcast break throgh
Are these shortwave stations, can you hear them on 41 meters with some other shortwave receiver? ?If so, read this thread: ?/g/BITX20/message/21996 (

Bitx40 low volume oscillation squeal
Good day all, I have been messing about with my Bitx40 SMD on an off for a couple of weeks working towards getting it mounted in a case. I have removed C113 across the LM386 pins 1 and 8 to reduce

am broadcast break throgh
Hi all I don't know if this subject has been covered before but after blowing my raduino and converting my Bitx 40 to analogue tuning I am having a lot of am broadcast stations breaking through the

Re: PTT line to Raduino?
Yea I see it. I was thinking of that when I saw it this time. So this time I looked very carefully and saw it is a number one. ?#define CW_OFFSET (800l) pasted in here on this page with this font,

Re: Continuity
Main 12v PWR to GND will be just a few kohm due to bias resistors, for example the path through R13,14,15,16 in the upper left of the schematic. PA-PWR to GND resistance will gradually increase (not

Re: Tuning POT not tuning
My guess is a wiring error in the vfo circuit. Maybe you used the old and new vfo together somehow. Re-read the directions and maybe take a photo of your tuning pot and associated wiring. Sent from

Continuity
I am wiring up my BitX40, and in the process, have been checking for continuity as I go. I attached all of the power connectors, and seemed to be getting what appears to be continuity. I took some

Re: Tuning POT not tuning
Thanks. I checked the tuning pot with a volt meter, and it read .08v. I took it out of the mounted position just to find out that it was broken. I will buy a new pot and try again. Thanks for leading

Re: 80 Meters on BITX40?
Ryan has posted how to do it here by bypassing the filter?http://miscdotgeek.com/category/bitx40/ ( http://miscdotgeek.com/category/bitx40/ ) This works but to get a better signal you will need to

Re: PTT line to Raduino?
Similar problem again that might trip some people up. The constant: #define CW_OFFSET (800l) has the last character in the symbolic constant defined as an 'l' (el), not a one ('1'). This is easier to

Re: Tuning POT not tuning
Measure the voltage at the center pin of your tuning pot to ground using a voltmeter. ?Does it smoothly vary between 0 and 5 volts as you turn the knob? Odd that your rig powers up at 7.7mhz, but

I should also add that when I go to tune, nothing happens. I can hear a signal coming through my earbuds though.

Re: PTT line to Raduino?
I should have directly commented on the A2 and A6 pins for PTT. Back in January Jerry recommended I change my A7 tuning pin to A6 because a short burned out the A7 input cell. I just did it and

Tuning POT not tuning
As the title states, my tuning pot does not tune. When I power the BITX40, it starts off on a freq. of 7.700MHz and then decreases, by itself to 7.600, 7.500, 7.400 etc until it gets to about

About a month ago I tried Jerry's flutter fix by copy and pasting the snippet into my copy of the code. At that time I started reading the comments that are in the code which explains everything it

Re: PTT line to Raduino?
Be aware that PTT has 12v on it, and some ringing from the inductance of the relay coil ?The Raduino could blow if fed much more than 5v. ?I'd start with a 10k+7k resistive divider or thereabouts,
