Re: uBITX Questions (fake semiconductors)
I had the same problem with some power mosfets sold on eBay. I installed one in a 220 MHz transverter and it immediately blew a fuse. Turned out that the devices I received didn¡¯t even have the

Re: Q9 bad
Bill you are right! I have had such experiences when RF is present the meters show low or wrong voltages. In BITX40 also, I shorted the external VFO pins and then checked and later found fault at the

Re: Q9 bad
I too had some trouble getting external VFO sigs through to the mixer.?? I suspected a bad Q9, but turned out that the transistor was good. (Check the voltages without the Raduino connected.)??

I am using a sony SMPS from an old laptop with my BitX40 s. there appears to be no extra noise above the band noise that I can tell using this supply. Note this supply is 19.5v and I use a small step

Re: Q9 bad
IF Q9 is bad some RF from Raduino will get through to the next transistor and RX will work. I had a 1K open in the 3rd VFO stage and 3904 blown! Raj, vu2zap
