Unbalancing mixer
How do I go about unbalancing the mixer to produce a carrier? I know that R106 balances the mixer for no carrier. So I assume a small value resistor to unbalance it. 73 Ken VA3ABN

Re: bitx output harmonics
In his note it is stated to use a cap with a suitable voltage rating. What would that rating be? Thanks Steve kb1chu

Re: compressor or processor for BITX40?
Yes I know that R136 is used to control the drive to the PA, and I have already increased it. I do get the normal amount of output power (7W). It's just that I believe that especially for QRP

Hello Allard , I have the same experience and therefore I am thinking about building the PA0FRI RF speech processor for the Bitx40. Go to http://www.pa0fri.com/ Select: "MISC " And then select: "

Re: bitx output harmonics
I'm on it. I only have a basic ceramic cap marked 101 will this do? Or does it need to be monolithic or something different? We shouldn't have any noticeable differences in our daily operating styles,

bitx output harmonics
Wayne has provided a one-capacitor fix for the spectral output of the bitx. Just solder a 100pf across the L7. Read his email here http://bitxhacks.blogspot.in/2017/02/bitx40-spectral-output.html - f

Re: My next QRP rig..
I would also be interested to see how well the RS-HFIQ works.? If it turns out to be a stable platform pairing it with a Teensy 3.6 + audio board might yield a very nice portable SDR rig.
