Re: Idea for future versions of BITX
I am not so sure that this is a good idea. If one reads the comments about the various DDS units, a common problem area is controlling the noise. Putting the DDS on the same board as the rest of the

Re: High voltage and higher power output - what heat sink are you using?
If you "remote" the 510 by adding even a small amount of wire you run the risk of turning that amplifier into a big ugly oscillator (been there, done that!). One of the reasons the BITX 40 amp is so

Thanks, Bill. On another note, thanks for Soldersmoke and your QRP book, which I read 3-4 years old. Will take a look at your information. 73 - w4usf

Re: High voltage and higher power output - what heat sink are you using?
What I have done with other projects is to mount the output transistor remotely.. ?This allows for easy use of the case itself as a heat sink, as well as makes it easier to use "junk box" heat sinks

John:? At first, I had a little muffin fan on the stock heat sink.? But I didn't like the noise and I kept getting my fingers in the blades.? So I did this: Putting a Heatsink on the BITX40

Video on ND6T's Shuttle DDS Tuning
Don ND6T sent us a video on his intriguing method of tuning an AD9850 in his BITX 40 Module.? It works very well.? Take a look: BITX Hacks | | | | | | | | | | | BITX Hacks Modifications, Hacks and

High voltage and higher power output - what heat sink are you using?
Good evening all. I've been wondering what strategies people are using to increase heat dissipation off the IRF510 final amp when running higher power output level? Is there a logical replacement heat

Re: Higher voltage for Bitx40 Final
Well, the other poster said the one he ordered (which I also ended up ordering) are quiet, and they sound like they will work okay for me. THanks! RichKC8MWG

Just ordered two of them: one for the Bitx20, and one for an SDR I have on the "back burner" for now that requires 15v on the TX circuit. RichKC8MWG
