The sBitx disk image - too big for certain (theoretically) 32GB SD cards
I wanted to install the sBitx software to another SD card to have a backup. I downloaded it from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T0cUdQjLZ-0lBFqwywaNBh3rToGb4UJ3/view?usp=drive_link (as described in

Re: Adding external relay control two V2/V3
Hi Jon! No, I don’t remember knowing about the EPTT, might have read about it and forgotten, but thank you so very much for pointing it out and reminding me! Hard to keep up with everything going

Re: sBitx v3 - original application gives high power, wsjtx up to 2W only
So it looks like I'll finally have to upgrade to 64-bit version of the OS and sBitx software... I tried to avoid it, as my sBitx v3 is equipped with 2 GB RAM RPi 4. However, it seems that all the

Re: Adding external relay control two V2/V3
Jon, if you read carefully, you'll notice that first there was Gordon's external PTT, then it became the current ePTT. I'm only writing this because no one has had the courage to install one. Of

Re: zBitx alternative board...
I parted with US$178 to order my zBitx in December, almost four months ago, and I am not in favour of a radical redesign. I believe the minimum possible hardware change (as described by the author)

Re: Adding external relay control two V2/V3
Gordon I’m assuming you know about the ePTT feature in the 64bit deployment? We put that in so you can control that from a gpio pin. It also adds a slight delay to prevent hot switching. If nothing

Adding this little circuit to my second, V2 sbitx. ? as luck would have it the first Opto coupler board was defective. Had to build a 2nd one — but works well now I learned here how to get the

Re: zBitx alternative board...
The Radxa is hands down a more performant SBC. Unfortunately the GPIO arrangement isn’t 1:1 so that may be a challenge without some re-engineering.

Re: zBitx alternative board...
It is fascinating watching hams solve problems/improve a radio that hasn't even shipped yet, let alone demonstrate problems that need addressing. A quick search leads me to believe that FreeDV works

Re: zBitx alternative board...
Are we discussing about a change in the digital section of the project? I feel it's a good idea. If any board that adheres to the RPi IO connector can be tried. I guess the efforts can also be used

zBitx alternative board...
Hello, we don't even know when it will start shipping, and we all want to rewrite the design from scratch. I'm in, too. Do you think it would be possible to change the raspberry for another more

Re: sBitx v3 - original application gives high power, wsjtx up to 2W only
I have now switched from USB to DIGI and there is no difference, I use the previous settings. I read the output power on an external Daiwa CN-801Type H meter, because the built-in meter cannot be

Re: sBitx v3 - original application gives high power, wsjtx up to 2W only
Wojtek, I haven't been doing much radio lately and it didn't show up, but there must have been some modification, because so far the wsjt-x and jtdx transmit slider didn't affect the transmit power. I

Re: sBitx v3 - original application gives high power, wsjtx up to 2W only
I run WSJTx on my DE which has the hardware upgrades. I used to just leave the slider up all the way and control the power out with the Drive Setting. But I recently upgraded and updated to the newest
