Re: CW keyer without transmitting (turning off break in)

Mark, The output power settings are entirely guess work between the bias settings and individual transistor characteristics that are far beyond their rated purpose. The best solution would be to add a stockton kind of inline swr bridge and measure the fwd power through and ADC and control the output in software through a kind of ALC. I have investigated many ADCs for the raspberry pi. The good ones take up pins that are not available. The usable ones are expensive. I am building an outboard swr and power meter that can go into the usb port. Barry,? Congratulations! It looks evil and I am sure it is a beast. The Daylight is all about your own ability to cook up from the first principles it is not instant noodles. Unwanted emails form this group - even though mail is turned off (???)
For some reason, I started receiving email from this group today even though I have all email turned off. I'm not sure where to turn for help as I know it is not the members that administer this sort of thing but can anyone please tell me how to contact the administrator so I can get this turned off? It has already run my email account out of memory and I would have to block ALL my Groups.io accounts in order to block it.
Thanks and 73, Rob KC4NYK |

Same here. ?I've uploaded it to two different uBitx V6s (original display). Both show corrupted graphics in CFG and when I try to change keyer type, the display goes white. -Howard

Thanks Bill, much better now. :-) this radio is quite amazing.. plus I can tinker. That's what radio is all about for me, probably never hear me on the air. :-)

开云体育A quick solution might be to change in the code the TX Power control lower limit to 0. ?I’ll try that this evening and post code if it works.

CW keyer without transmitting (turning off break in)
#sBitx
Mark Earnest
Bit of a weird question, but I cannot find a way to do this in the docs. Is there a way to use the CW keyer without actually transmitting? Say, to adjust the tone and speed settings off the air. It would be a bonus if there were a way to do this and have the morse code translator processing the CW being entered (full disclosure: I'm in the middle of learning CW and curious if I can use the sBitx as a learning tool as well :) Also, not getting into how I know this or how long it took to figure out, but if you ever find your colors completely inverted on your Raspberry Pi 7" screen, check to see if a solder flake ended up loose in your case and is shorting between R14/R13 and R9/R10 on your LCD controller board :) |

Received my Sbitx
#sBitx
Hi All received my Sbitx today.?
Noted: Receive current. is about 0.66A with 12.5V input. Probably because of the added switcher as opposed to the LDO.? Also I have a burrrrp about every 6.3 Seconds.. Not hooked up to the internet.? I stumbled into someone that had it but only when hooked to the internet.? I haven't even got that far yet. just enjoying the discovery.. but having too many irons in the fire today.. :-) 73 Brad N8YG |

开云体育Good deal. ?Two updates I’d recommend:In?Corrupted sBitx – How to reset the settings.ini: Insert a carriage return bettor sbitx.git and cd: In?Upgrading to switching regulator (Development Edition)" "12. Solder the black (ground) wire of the new switching regulator to the negative side of the orange electrolytic capacitor. ?This capacitor is soldered on top of R80, a SMD resistor.” Change to: 12. Remove the main board screw at H1 and solder the black (ground) wire of the new switching regulator to the ground trace at H1, and replace the screw.

Re: Audio Amp Wi-Fi Interference

I have tried installing RF bypass caps on the LM380 inputs and output, but this did not eliminate the noise. .??
The easiest fix is to disable WiFi on the Raspberry Pi? ?sudo ifconfig wlan0 down If you need WiFI, add an external USB WiFi adapter at the end of a USB extension cable. ?? ? ? |

Hi Rolf, I am looking for a new place to live. Thank you for the information. I don't know of any stations in Japan that use sBitx, so I was troubled by the lack of information. Best regards. |
