Re: sBitx Touchpad / Mouse Issue
#sBitx
Hey ecc,
That was the solution!? It was pretty simple: tell the OS to only use the touchpad mouse on the DSI screen and every thing lines up. In my case the terminal command is: xinput map-to-output "raspberry-ts" "DSI-1".? I'm pretty sure that once I restart the RPI that setting will be lost but this makes the touchpad useable in multiple monitor configurations.? I'll have to see how to make it part of the boot sequence. Thanks for the help, Scott |

Rolf and Scott,
thanks for the reply. Yes, I was thinking of building the digital board on an RPi400, it has 2 hdmi ports. -- 73, Gyula HA3HZ |

I haven't tried it, but since the GUI seems to be built on X11, this approach should work: On Mon, Aug 22, 2022 at 6:39 PM Scott KE8KYP <scott_massey@...> wrote: Hi All, |
sBitx Touchpad / Mouse Issue
#sBitx
Hi All,
One thing I have noticed is when two monitors of differing resolutions are enabled, in my case the DSI and HDMI 0, an external mouse works fine on both screens in a typical "extended desktop" mode but the touch pad does not follow this mapping.? Although the DSI screen is working fine, what appears to be happening is the touchpad is mapped to control both monitors and not just the DSI display.? This appears to create a mapping error between the touchpad and the resolution of the DSI screen.? When the mouse pointer is moved by the external mouse and it transitions between monitors, it follows/translates the change in position without display errors.? By contrast, if you use the touchpad to move the pointer similarly, when you touch the screen, the pointer jumps to a position on the screen away from your intended touch. It appears that when two monitors are active, the touchpad follows the area combination of the two monitors and not just the DSI driven display.? That means the touchpad pointer does not align with the various functions and thus is unusable. ?I hope I made sense in describing the behavior.? Does anyone know of a way to correct this mapping issue or limit the touchpad mouse function to just the DSI display? Thanks, Scott?? |

Hi Gyula,
If I understand your question correctly, if you do not use the DSI port, yes, you should be able to use the two (2) HDMI ports.? The RPi can support two monitor ports and yes, you'll need to supply a keyboard and mouse via a USB port to control the radio. Cheers, Scott |
Re: uBITX V6 Rigblaster PTT not triggering morse code but does trigger voice PTT

Not sure what you want to do, but if you want the pc to send Morse code you can use the mic input and select CW mode

uBITX V6 Rigblaster PTT not triggering morse code but does trigger voice PTT
#ubitxv6-help
I have an old rigblaster set up for digital work with my uBITX. Works great. I can plug it into the mic connector and it properly triggers PTT and plays audio.
However, when hooking the same exact cable to the CW input on the uBITX, the ptt does not trigger morse code. I can confirm it shorts the two correct pins, and when I plug in the hand-mic into the CW slot, the PTT triggers CW properly, however nothing at all happens with the rigblaster. Any tips? |

John, The logfiles are in calibrio format. They are in the data subdirectory/home/pi/sbitx/data/logbook.txt On Mon, Aug 22, 2022, 8:07 PM John via <n0ure=[email protected]> wrote:

While waiting for the power mod I am looking at LOTW. I can read that the Pi LOTW app needs to upload ADIF-type files. I don't read that file type from the currently installed loger. Has anyone replaced the installed log program with one that has the? ADIF file type? John |
Re: DAYLIGHT RADIO - PLASTIC TOROID MASTER
开云体育Group, general question on the plastic toroid material. I know the higher the Q the better but with the printed toroid what is the general range of the different plastics? Any one have any numbers on this? Thanks Barry ? Sent from for Windows ? From: Ashhar Farhan

Yes, Mark, With VHF, you want more turns rather than fewer and a brass bolt makes a great, inexpensive inductor tuning mechanism. - f ? On Sat, Aug 20, 2022, 11:33 PM Mark - N7EKU <n7eku@...> wrote:

开云体育Some days ago Ashar described what needs to be changed for a different solution. It did not seem to be a very big issue. From my experience you won‘t need a touch screen in order to operate the transceiver. The touch screen sort of replaces the mouse or a trackpad.?Vy 73 de? Rolf, DL8BAG? 开云体育Scott,Thanks for the excellent field report and the great pictures. I like the idea of attaching a second monitor to support third-party applications, and and glad to hear about your successes with WSJT-X in the unit. My sBitx was bought without an RPi, and is currently running with a 2 Gig RAM model, I wonder if I should upgrade to a 4 Gig RAM model if I want to run third-party apps as you did? It may not be needed, but it might just provide a bit more room for the software to work with... Thanks again! Ken, N2VIP On Aug 21, 2022, at 16:41, Scott KE8KYP <scott_massey@...> wrote:

Re: #sbitx mod

开云体育I've not tried the configuration you describe, but I can confirm that the mouse is able to fully take the place of the touch interface, meaning the mouse can be used on any screen element. The next question is how the sBitx screen display will render on a screen with a vastly different resolution (the RPi touchscreen is 800x480 resolution, from memory). It would likely have huge swaths of black above and below the display. Ken, N2VIP On Aug 22, 2022, at 04:02, HA3HZ <gyula@...> wrote:
