Re: Bitx40 very loud, high-pitched, low frequency noise
OK, I think we need to know a little more about the connections from the analogue connector.Firstly are you using a direct connection between this analogue connector and the sockets(earphone etc) or

Re: Stuck at LSB A:7.149.950
Is this a stock display?? Any other mods? Easiest might be to just add a heatsink if one is not already installed. This would be the first time that I have read about a stock system having 7805

My daughter is a PhD economist like you and she took all the math I did as an EE plus some! Maybe you should have stuck it out. Couldn't talk her into IE either... James

Re: Where many of the ICs we still use today were born.
Really neat stuff!! I loved electronics as far back as I can remember. I got my Novice license when I was 11 (1954), General a year later, and have been licensed ever since. I wanted to be an EE.

Isolate any jacks/controls from metal chassis? #ubitx
Are there any controls or jacks that I should isolate from my metal chassis?? Specifically, I'm thinking of the PTT and C/W key inputs, since those are wired to the Raduino.? Since they are part of

Re: Bitx40 very loud, high-pitched, low frequency noise
If the problem is at low volume level then add any resistor value between 1-10K in series with center volume control wire and see if that helps. Raj, vu2zap

Re: Bitx40 very loud, high-pitched, low frequency noise
OK short the lead that went to the centre contact to the case and advise if the noise stops. Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/ghei36> ________________________________ Sent: Wednesday, August 21,

I tried unplugging the volume control completely, the problem persists

Re: Bitx40 very loud, high-pitched, low frequency noise
I don't recall the colors of the wires that go to the volume control but what I would do is unsolder the lead to the centre connection(audio to amplifier) If the noise continues it signifies a problem

Where many of the ICs we still use today were born.
HI, This interesting article shows prototypes like I see in projects in this group, are like the test and development prototypes for many analog ICs. A look into the days before SPICE simulations

Well that makes more sense.? How do you make a 25 kHz wide LC filter at VHF? You don't.? I optimistically misread. Thanks Lawrence. As Roseanne Rosannadanna used to say..."nevermind."
