Re: Changing direction - ignition noise intractable #bitx40
I may have missed the comment, but does the noise get in to your BitX40 with the antenna disconnected? On my mobile setup I found the BitX40 was very sensitive to noise on the 12v power line, but

Propagation was the worst I ever seen on 20m and above, even K3LR seemed to me weak in the Euroland. Few big on 15m and nothing on 10m. I preferred the park to the contest. Even traditional big

Hi ! Where is the best point to pick up the +12V from this tx/rx relay (K1) I plan to use this (whit another relay) for disconnect an RF Preamp Thanks ! Regards

Re: Changing direction - ignition noise intractable #bitx40
Lack of shielding could be part of the problem. Another big difference is that the Bitx40 (and uBitx) have most of their rx gain after the demodulator, in the audio amps.?? So more sensitive to

Re: Changing direction - ignition noise intractable #bitx40
If the ts-520 doesn't pick up the ignition noise and the bitx-40 does then it is shielding in the radio's that are the difference. A hole cut in the front panel for an lcd is a *big* hole for

Re: I2C Signal meter HEX file?
Tomasz I think I see the problem. You are referencing the volume control wire colors for the Amateurradiokits case and Ted is referencing the original uBitx audio connector wire colors. The picture

I made 3 DX contacts from my qth in Missouri USA. Got Morocco, Ukraine and Australia. Running ubitx v3 on 20 and 40 meter phone. I gloated after that. Dave k0mbt.

Re: uBitx fan size for the amateurradiokits.in enclosure #ubitx
It's a few inches. Connects to tx/rx relay and only turns on during xmit.

That's true!? Problem is, I've not been able to figure out how this is happening.? (If it IS acting like a spark gap... the transmissions don't get into the TS-520 sitting beside my chair, with the

Re: Changing direction - ignition noise intractable #bitx40
If the engine itself is acting as a spark gap transmitter, you will need to put effort in to choking ignition wires etc. Just looking at the radio isn't going to solve a transmitter being next to the

I don’t get QEX but wonder what method he used to measure the distortion of his circuit. I think the HP334A was useful for that (THD I guess). They still want quite a high price for them on eBay.
