Poor Man's Panadapter?
Hi All: Here's an experiment that might be of interest, especially to anyone thinking about one of those fancy ICOM 73000000s.? The goal is to build a crude panadapter into my BITX rig without

Re: Protoneer Nano-Arm #ubitx
The problem with remaining pin compatible with the Nano is that there aren't enough of them. Maybe stick that si5351 on the main uBitx board where it belongs using a little itty bitty board glued to

Re: Protoneer Nano-Arm #ubitx
Gary, I agree that none of the others are even close to matching the Nano pinout .....except for the Protoneer. And saving an interposer board would be great. Boards are in the mail .....I think. 73

Re: #ubitx Fm/Am mode #ubitx
Interesting Radu, have you thought of using a 10.7 IF instead? It might be easier for image rejection but more important is it could be fed from the junction of C40, R37, and 12MHz Xtal filter. At

Re: Protoneer Nano-Arm #ubitx
I stumbled across the Protoneer last week when searching for a controller upgrade. I was unable to find a Blue Pill or ST board variation that was _pin_ compatible with the Nano. Maybe I didn't look

Re: Protoneer Nano-Arm #ubitx
I got a Blue Pill with the 48 pin TQFP STM32F103 about a year ago, got it to speak Arduino just fine. Of course, some Arduino libraries aren't ported, but it's a major step up from the Nano. Blue Pill

Re: Protoneer Nano-Arm #ubitx
Jerry, I agree.? The various STM "pill boards" sound promising and are --very-- cheap.....did you know there are 17 different STM32F103 products out there and the STM32F103C8 is one of the

Re: Protoneer Nano-Arm #ubitx
Yes, the "RobotDyn SAMD21 M0-Mini" is very similar to the "Protoneer" but 2x to 3x more expensive and I don't see any advantage, offhand ??? ? 73 Kees K5BCQ

He asked if there were other small boards out there. I suggested one. The STM32 boards come in several flavors, including one that uses the Arduino NANO layout, called the Blue-Pill board. They are

Yes, the STM32F103C8T6 boards ("blue pill", "black pill") are another very low cost (<$3) alternative and it looks like the market is being flooded with them. It will require someone more experienced
