Disregard that last comment Mike, I was confusing the TDA2822 with the TDA7052A, oops. Joel N6ALT

Re: uBitX - problem with power draw and failed chip
Hey Mike, I know why it didn't work, it doesn't glow in the dark:-) No seriously folks, that's a bummer. The TDA2822M's speaker output is not referenced to ground and must be isolated from ground.

Re: Raduino seperate
The stick clamped by a vice holding the pcb is nice to watch. Perhaps we can simply buy a double sided sticker tape. ?first stick to a table surface or some such ?After peeling off the top

Re: Ubitx delivery suggestion
If anyone's worried about future deliveries, when the DHL guy or gal gets to your house, ask them for a signature release. DHL will keep it on file so you don't need to worry about it. I have them

Re: Ubitx delivery suggestion
I called DHL and they told me to leave a note on the door with my shipping number and my signature. As it turned out I was home when it was delivered by a courier and no signature was required anyhow

Re: Raduino Replacemnt, COMING SOON!
Should work fine with Allard's sketches. I believe with no modifications to the sketch if using a standard parallel display. Not a bad idea to move to an i2c display to free up some pins, but that is

Re: uBitX - problem with power draw and failed chip
Mike, Now break the 2822 and remove the pins one by one. Put in a socket. If everything looks alright then you can get audio from the volume control top lead and listen on an ampli speaker. Raj

Re: uBitX - problem with power draw and failed chip
Mike, The voltage is fine, something else blew it. Chip cracking mean catastrophic failure.. Check for solder bridge short etc.. these boards are checked before they are sent out. Raj

Re: uBitX - problem with power draw and failed chip
My supply voltage was 13.8, is that too high? That is nominal 12v supply. I will check the chip orientation before replacing the Thanks Mike

Re: uBitX - problem with power draw and failed chip
Mike, That may happen if power supply voltage was too high. The chip may have been soldered wrongly - please check. 2822 is a very tough chip, I have melted a breadboard but the chip

uBitX - problem with power draw and failed chip
Hello, I just received my uBitX and started wiring it up per the instructions. I wired up the power connector with the diode installed, and measured the draw from the main board, and it was high: 140
