Something has been blown
Yesterday I installed everything and it worked fine... Today I put everything in the box and decided to use the case as heatsink. I put insulator and thermal silicone. Ok i turned it on and there has

Re: Antenna connector continuity Ubitx
Hey, César, are you using the case as a heat sink for the PA?

Re: Antenna connector continuity Ubitx
Looking at the uBitx schematic, it shows the relays in the receive state. On receive, there's a DC path to ground going through K3, K1, L1,2,3,4 and T3 On transmit, with the band select relays as

Analog keyer revisited #ubitx
I incorporated the keyer code from W0EB and W2CTX into my personal software build, but being determined to save the last analog input for S/power metering, kept the single input that detects three

Re: BitX40 voltage booster implementation
On the power side, I'm thinking about a 19V laptop supply and building a small card with 19, 12, and 5V busses.? ?19V to the PA section, 12 V for the rig in general, and 5 to the SSM2167 card, and

Re: Antenna connector continuity Ubitx
I can follow a trace from P2 to ground through an inductor, so at DC, like your DMM would be using to check that, I'd say yes. And if someone who knows what they're talking about will agree, I'll

Re: BitX40 voltage booster implementation
So, some estimations: Junction to case, IRF510 is 3.5 deg C per watt Case to greased surface is 0.5 deg C per watt typical Those heat sinks look similar to WV-T220-101E so roughly 13 deg C per

Antenna connector continuity Ubitx
Hello! Is it normal to have continuity between the two antenna pins? I mean the p2 connector? i have desoldered the coqx just in case. Still continuity...

I got them on Ebay, for about 25 bucks a pop I am happy to share my design and gerbers if you want them The design uses a driver op amp so I can drive a 50ohm cable from the oscillator. I have it as

Did some testing today. Running the booster at 14v input and setting the output to 23v I could detect no discernible noise change either on a dummy load or on an antenna. Transmit audio was recorded

I used a separate power switch, that way I can use a normal volume pot with 1/4 inch shaft if I wish. Also means that if pot gets noisy, I only have to replace with another audio pot. AL VE3RRD
