Re: General Si5351 Question - Pi?
Personally, I was planning on having my Pi/HAT and Bitx/uBitX in separate shielded boxes in the same enclosure.? It might be necessary to put the Si5351 and ADC inside the Bitx/uBitX box and use

Re: Import duty and VAT
I had the same, but if you read carefully, there is no duty. In my case it was appx $7 for HST, and the rest was "administration" fees for the carrier. -- *** mike.ligeza@... VE3UIL Smiths

Before you try it on the air, add R904,R905,R906 and C904,C905,C906 from Farhan's minima: ? ??https://www.freelists.org/archives/minima/01-2016/pdfavh3bHrUb6.pdf (

Re: CW ON BITX WITH CODE OSCILLATOR
Search "audio sine oscillator". There's a 2-transistor (one is an output buffer) Wien Bridge circuit there. I'd recommend keying that buffer's power (or the whole thing) with a resistor to reservoir

Re: CW ON BITX WITH CODE OSCILLATOR
?Unbalancing the mixer so that it actually produces an OUTPUT signal which actually is the carrier, seems pretty much the idea of CW to me. However, I did some research recently to figure out if the

Re: CW ON BITX WITH CODE OSCILLATOR
I thought CW was turning the TX on for dits and dahs and off otherwise, basically an unmodulated carrier at a given frequency. Is it common to use a modulated carrier, where the audio of code is sent

Re: CW ON BITX WITH CODE OSCILLATOR
On closer inspection they have an LM555 timer IC, not a uC. But output is still a square wave, not suitable.

Re: RaduPi
simple enough to have a $30 Raspberry in the same enclosure if you wish, and that wouldn't require a bunch of software development. I compiled a release of FLDIGI for my Raspberry. There are 5" and 7"

Re: CW ON BITX WITH CODE OSCILLATOR
It can work, it's been done. ? The archives of this forum show that most attempts at CW on a Bitx have done something similar. But Allard's CW mod is very simple and will give a cleaner CW signal. I

Re: Where to Start?
I got 2 speakers from Goldmine or somewhere like that. They are "Golden Voice".? I realized 16 ohms would be better liked by the LM386. I think they are a lot more efficient than the 2" I was using?

Re: Where to Start?
Reducing R111 to 10 ohms sounds good, that audio power amp can require significant current. Mike's cap from LM386-7 to ground is also a good idea, the LM386 datasheet recommends a 10uF cap there

Re: Home brew 5 band BitX
My BitX has Ubitx modules but arranged like the current 40 meter version. I¡¯m using a QRP Labs vfo and a relay switched crystal bfo/carrier osc for USB/LSB. So far 80, 40, & 20 have plenty of audio,
