Re: Using BITX40 with 15v battery?
Do you have a solar charge controller? It doesn’t sound like it. 15V is bad for the battery. It will cook it and will shorten it’s overall life.

My question, is it safe to use the radio under

Re: Just ordered the BITX40
You are not purchasing a radio. You are purchasing a kit. Big difference.

Re: What a thrill ... first contact on Bitx40
George -
Exactly the same - 600 km first contact to Toronto from Baltimore. And I
was heard in Miami area, too.
I have two tuning controls in my BitX 40v3 - built before everyone was
using Radino. I

Re: What a thrill ... first contact on Bitx40
Great build.? Would you mind sharing some details about the construction?? My bitx40 just arrived in the mail and I'm considering how I want to box it up.

Wired up the mic today and decided to call CQ! First call ?- ?success!! 600 km contact on 7 Watts was fantastic!
More surprising is the reaction of the other station when you let the Bitx40 cat out

I remember seeing that discussion, but when I ordered a bitx40 this past Saturday, I didn't include any callsign information since there was never a point in the ordering process where it was

If confused as to why the BFO had to be lowered to transmit an LSB signal after flipping from a 5mhz to a 19mhz bfo, then check out post?/g/BITX20/message/24724 (

There are lots of people on the list of buyers that did not supply a Call.
I don't think there is a problem? There is no law that I know of in the US that says you have a Call to purchase a

Re: BITX QSO Night, Sunday, May 21, 9pm Local Time, 7.178 MHz
Last Sunday I had to go up to 71822 to find a clear spot. Maybe listening a bit further from the default frequency will help.

Re: BITX QSO Night, Sunday, May 14, 9pm Local Time, 7.179 MHz
I tried at 8PM PDT, but heard no bitx40 calls, just a lot of QRM from other stations. I called CQ for awhile, with no response. I could see that my signal was making it to AZ (using websdr.com radio)
