Re: Flutter Fix
I just wanted to say one more thing. I ordered two big 4cm knurled shaft knobs for a smaller tuning pot because of the flakey frequency flutter that needed a delicate touch and patience. The flutter

Re: Speakers for BITX40
The BITX 40 uses a LM386 audio amp with plenty of drive. A small speaker is easily over driven. You could take off the SMD cap next to the LM386 which might be better suited for small speakers. I am

Re: Blinking red light
Even when you load Bitx Raduino code, you'll see that LED lights up or occasionally blinks, but not at regular intervals. This LED is connected to the Arduino's D13 line which is one of the lines that

Actually, loading the hex file is harder. At the end of the assembly manual here: http://www.farrukhzia.com/analyzer tells how to download the software and compile and upload a program. Let me know if

I don't know if what I'm saying is correct but wouldn't it be a lot easier for a newcomer to just load a copy of the a hex code file then go through the whole process of getting the script, compiling

Re: CW or not to CW?
Left yet unsaid is how the balanced modulator takes the 12000khz bfo and the 1khz audio signal, and creates two new signals at 11999khz and 12001khz. ?Unfortunately, I'm not sure this can be

Marc, So all you changed was band pass and low pass filters (and of course VFO) to get 80- 20 meters? Thanks! Mike WA3O

Re: Blinking red light
Again, the fact that the Nano has a blinking LED and the display lights up tells me that Nano is running the Blink sketch, not the Raduino code. Just get the software together, load the Raduino code

Re: What bands with only band pass and low pass?
Hi Mike, So far I've got my BITX-40 to cover from 160 to 20 mtrs ... Above 20 mtrs and the performance of my BITX-40 drops right off, It does still work on 10 mtrs but the RX and TX are pretty poor,

Re: CW or not to CW?
To get a cw signal out of the BitX, wouldn't it do to just bypass the balanced modulator with the BFO signal? (Also disconnect the audio input.) jgaffke@...> wrote:

I disagree. No. From http://cd.textfiles.com/hackchron/RADIO1/HAM04.TXT ( http://cd.textfiles.com/hackchron/RADIO1/HAM04.TXT ) . A0 carrier - no modulation . A1 on-off telegraphy #1 . A2 amplitude

Hold on, wait. If that is reading 7.1500 then the difference is 50,000. And that's a lot. The last number on the display is 100 Hz. If it ends in 5, that's equal to 500 HZ. If this is the amount of

Re: weak mic audio output,
First thing to do is connect the 8 pin connectors RED wire to ground. Like the outer shield portion of the coax BNC connector is usually the safest bet. Use a clip wire if you need to. This turns on
