Re: zBitx Battery Holder Length
The specifications for the 18650 battery are in the name. It's not a 18700 battery.

Re: zBitx Battery Holder Length
I think the battery holder selected matches the depth of the case - a larger holder might extend past the edge. At least, that what it looked like to me. Farhan has mentioned he wasn't previously

Why not use a 70mm holder then? Best, Dick

I guess we should only use batteries <ith protection circuit, knowing the nuisance that Lithium cells can provide and the problems we are facing when flying on commercial flights with these

Re: Might have shot myself in the foot.
Jason, I have copies of almost every version from 2 (I think) up through 4.01 and alot of the v3 versions as everytime I update to a newer version, I burn a copy of the current one first and save it.

Re: Might have shot myself in the foot.
Hey Jason, I my case I tend to make simple mistakes and don't catch them and let them become out of proportionally large. My first sBITX I had it just long enough to fall in love with it and then

Re: sbitx v3 circuit and performance details
David, Never say never. You say 50W is not enough on 80 meters. On dummy load, it is difficult to make QSOs, but try it with a well-sized antenna. I still use the v2, which has the IRFZ24N that I

Re: sbitx v3 circuit and performance details
I have done some informal tests into a 500 watt dummy load to see how well the power output will hold up on the IRF520 and I can get 55 watts continuous on FT8 (on 80 mtrs) as long as I am willing to

Re: Abort FT8 qso
In sbitx ft8 mode, you can interrupt the transmission with the ESC key, it also deletes the callsign in the LOG window. When using the Halt TX external program (wsjtx, jtdx), it is true that it does

Hi they are flat top! the ones with button top are 70mm long and will not fit in the holder.

Re: live reading of incoming voltage #sBitx
Just a small remark, which is good to know about in the case of sbitx DE and v2, v3: the hardware reacts to an input voltage below 10 V so that there is no sound from the speaker. Operation can still

More thoughts on this IRFZ24N destruction. 1.? ?It occurred with just 3 or 4 dits / dahs with "drive" set to 68% on 80 meters -- but with the intervening tuner in an indeterminate state into the
