Re: HS Code Required

I have the HS code for toroids.
Thanks to everyone for replying back .
The HS code is 85051110? for? Ferrite cores .
Best regards

Re: Parasites noises

Christian,

For my tests the screen Nextion is completly deconnected. i know it can make some noise but is't? completly different in my case.
I have gained experience on this type of assembly
The noise comme from Q70

I isolated Q70 which is a SMD model on my construction.
it oscillates alone at 40 MHZ!!! so therefore parasitizes the upper stages by modulation effect
I changed it, it¡¯s the same.

So I will do a test with a good old 2N3906 as on my first proto.

Re: BITX 4 Band with Linear Amplifier and AGC

Thank you for the kind reply and data. Greatly appreciated.?

There are several bom's for the bitx20. So i am trying to make sure i use the right one to order parts for the rest of the rig.
Thank you!!! mike

Re: Parasites noises

Hallo,

do you use a Nextion Display?

Re: BITX40 and Data FT8/JT65 et al.

Zvika,
What value did you use for the DC block capacitors?
Thanks,

Re: radio will transmit CW but not voice

Hi,

I think you may find it easiest to use the firmware that has the "memory manager" software.? That way you can easily enter the default VFO and BFO calibration numbers, and then have a starting place to make later adjustments.

Unfortunately, I can't remember which firmware uses that software.? But I'm sure many here can help with that.

Re: BITX40 and Data FT8/JT65 et al.

Thanks Kobus!

Re: radio will transmit CW but not voice

No.? All the software you need is that provided by HF Signals.?

This may be different if you are using some other software than that provided
by HF Signals.? Some systems do provide separate EEProm data storage
that is not managed by the operating system but? is necessary for
normal operation.? For these there are several EEProm management
software packages that can edit what is stored in EEProm, or you can
simply write your own by following examples for Arduino coding.

Re: radio will transmit CW but not voice

Most any audio amp that is capable of driving headphones or a speaker
can be used to trace audio through the uBITX circuitry.? Use a 0.1 mfd capacitor
as a probe to isolate the amplifier from DC.? Activate the PTT (Push-to-talk)
on your microphone and follow audio from the microphone, through the mike
amplifier in the uBITX, and on to the balanced modulator.? Audio at the mixer will
be clipped or distorted because of the mixer diodes.? This is normal.?

Add a diode to your external audio amplifier to monitor RF points.? This too
will sound distorted because you are using an AM detector to monitor DSB
and SSB, but it will tell you if you have modulation, or no modulation.?

If you do not have a suitable audio amplifier for audio signal tracing, one can
be easily built using an op-amp and a PP (Pull-Push) emitter follower using
one 2N3904 and one 2N3906.?

Re: Parasites noises

Oh oh!
I just saw this
On the diagram of the Ubitx V6 the capacitor is not polarized. (To see on your models)
Me on my diagram , it¡¯s polarized
Maybe it is that?

Anyway, I¡¯m going to desolder it to control the output of the transistor

Re: Parasites noises

hello,
Hello,
To clarify I have this problem on my 2nd prototype
The first one had 12MHZ filters and worked well the first time.
Careful, the implantations are different.
The 2nd is in filters 11059MHZ
Of course, I reloaded another PGM in the Arduino;?I took the version for Ubitx V5 of Kd8CEC.
I think the anomaly is at the output of the SSB filter and is more visible with the amplification of Q70.
It is very strange and has a modulation of 1.3?s with an internal oscillation of 0.08?s.
It is the M1 signal which with the relay passes to M2 for amplification.
So this causes a global interaction, which produces these strange crackles and noises.

For the moment I don¡¯t know where this modulation at 1.3 ?s comes from.
Some id¨¦a?

so?I would like to test the SSB filter by this method

I only have a generator and oscillo, how to test without desoldering?
Give me the connection points in relation to a V6 schema --> It's write to use the transformers for a best measurement.

By updating the EEPROM have I made irreparable changes?

Re: Parasites noises

Hi Gerard,

You don't mention whether this is new behavior or whether it had existed since you completed your build.? I've had a similar problem after an upgrade, and it turned out to be a cold solder joist on the ground side of the rotary encoder.? I've seen similar issues to what you are reporting from the ground connections are not good.

Good luck,

Sunil

This is an Indian code.? See for example?

You should be able to get Diz to label the correct code on your next shipment.

Keep up the good work on your kits!? I guess there may be new additions if Ashhar comes out with an SDR radio.? I am building one based around Charlie ZL2CTM¡¯s direct conversion end Teensy 3 design.
