My apologies for the bandwidth, I've now found the information I sought.

Late to the party for W8TEE TFT/VFO PCB

I've delved into the backlog of posts and found myself unable to ascertain whether there are any pcbs to be had.?
Very interested in acquiring 2 or 3.
Cheers

raduino v1.27 released (improved suppression of spurious burst)

Hi,
I've just released raduino v1.27, download it from

New in this release:

  • Improved the suppression of the spurious carrier when switching from RX to TX.
  • The default TX-DELAY is now 65 ms (you can adjust the delay time by editing line 71 as necessary)
IMPORTANT: This sketch version requires the library "PinChangeInterrupt" for interrupt handling.
This is a non-standard library - it may not yet be installed on your system. However installing it is very easy:

  1. In your IDE, go to Sketch => Include Library => Manage Libraries...
  2. The Library Manager will be opened, wait a few moments for your IDE to refresh the list of installed libraries.
  3. Then, in the search box (Filter your search), enter "PinChangeInterrupt"
  4. Select the library PinChangeInterrupt by NicoHood and press the Install button
  5. You can close the Library Manager when the installation is completed.

Then compile and upload the sketch as usual.

Happy BitX-ing!

Good Evening!

What is the nomenclature on the Q13¡ªneed to try that replacement to see if the power picks up...only ~100mw now, if that.

Correction for Daylight Savings Time

Re: Modular BiTX40

It is my idea to conforming a modular rig.
My design requirement:
Main board have to be < 100 x 100 mm to use a PCb manufacturer discount as a prototype.
All the module have to be the same size interchangeable over the main board for experimenter or for teaching uses.
The main board would be assembly as a regular rig or will be assembly separate with each module.
The relay and the Qrp PA will be in other module with the option to snap in to the main board.
At this time the main board is empty, but It will be completed with all the modules for the regular use as a Qrp exciter.
Please any comment will be appreciate to improve the design idea.

This is my answer to the usb cable extension.?

Re: W8TEE TFT/VFO Boards

I'm not sure about the website. I've never heard him mention one. Jack is very active in this group, and the board was shipped quickly after I ordered it through PayPal.

It is a fun project - Just so you know, the components for the board cost me $84.68 from various eBay and Aliexpress resellers. The most expensive was the TFT display at $18.28 and then the Mega2560 Pro Mini at $18.00 (there are cheaper ones on Aliexpress but the documentation says they are the wrong size and wont fit into the pc-board).
The DDS board (AD9850 Type II) was $12.98. The rest of the items were each under $10.00 each.

Have fun!

The docs for the B40 mods from W8TEE are in the files section. Search for B40AssemblyManual04.doc? as that's the most recent version.
?
The boards are available from Jack Purdum (W8TEE). The cost for the board alone is $8.00, and that includes domestic shipping. I just pay-pal'd the money to "econjack at yahoo dot com" and made sure to include my address in the notes of the transaction.?

Re: W8TEE B40 real time clock connections #w8tee

After some code investigation, I discovered that the RTC does not use an interrupt, the clock is polled and updated every time though the Arduino loop which turns out to be between 4 - 6 per second with debugging turned on (it's probably more often with debugging turned off).

I added some code that only updates the RTC only once per second (or very close to once per second) and that seemed to help out the responsiveness of the rotary encoder although if I kept turning the knob, the frequency display would miss a few increments because the Arduino was updating the clock. Perhaps Jack will have some suggestions when he returns from vacation.

Re: Vectronix CW filter #bitx40help

I had to look that one up...

This is a narrow audio filter, (probably) centered around 750Hz, and a (switchable, down to a) VERY narrow 80Hz bandwidth.

You would place this at your BitX Audio output, and before the speaker / phones.

Sorry for my weak memory I actually installed a "down angle mini 5 pin USB to USB 2.0 B female panel mount" it is 50 cm long so you can mount it any where on the back of your BitX.
You could also use a "right" but if space is tight, the down takes up less space.

Hello.
Thank you John and Willy.
I just ordered one from willy's Ebay link. And since it's the same female connector as my SDRplay RSP2, it's even more convenient.
Thank you and have a good day.

I actually had to remount the 10 turn pot on a bracket and use a shaft extender on it when I added the right angle USB connector. For those in the process of building, plan ahead a little and you can probably make this addition a bit easier on yourself.
