Re: I captured my own PSK31 signal and it is not a pretty picture #ubitx-help #filters
When I look at my transceiver output on transmit, I don't connect any antenna to my SDR dongle. I also have a 50 ohm SMA terminator that I sometimes connect to the dongle to greatly reduce the signal

Re: Alignment of Bitx40
The alignment current refers to only the current in the PA power line, not the entire radio. On that line current is zero during receive, but the overall rig does draw power on receive and you would

Re: Harmonics and Relay Replacement
Would be interesting for me knowing whether these relays make such a significant improvement to the version 3 as well.

Re: I captured my own PSK31 signal and it is not a pretty picture #ubitx-help #filters
If you are using a laptop you may try using just the battery and see what may change. To eliminate the noise when I use SDRs I use the laptop with a laptop power supply that has the ground wire (the

Re: I captured my own PSK31 signal and it is not a pretty picture #ubitx-help #filters
It might be as well, but if you get that picture without transmitting it might be a ground loop. You need a 1:1 isolating transformer for RF (not audio type) such those made by MiniCircuits or

Re: Harmonics and Relay Replacement
Nick, I tried the mod with a set of Omron and the harmonics were the same about -36 db I tried with Panosonic relays, slightly smaller and the harmonic were TERRIBLE at -12db Not price but internal

Re: Harmonics and Relay Replacement
I suppose we are learning the difference between a $5 relay and a $1 relay.... I see the Omron G6 I plan on using with my LPF boards has a 45db isolation at 50mhz! 73 Nick VK4PP.

Re: Harmonics and Relay Replacement
Regarding the relay spec differences, can anyone open the case of the "good" and the "bad" and take photos of the innards? It would be instructive to all of us to understand how to choose relays for

Good evening Kees, As I said in an earlier post, with the Axicom relays installed in 3 different rigs, I am not seeing any harmonic greater than -50dBm on any band from 80 thru 10 mtrs.? I have fuzzy

Thanks for the advise. The ferrites eliminated the noise. Still I'm looking for ways to implement a remote vfo encoder. Using rigctl I managed to do ptt. Will try to do the vfo by reading the

Re: uBitx First Contact
Hi Daniel Yes both RV2 and RV3 are 10k and they are also in parallel so to start with you will only measure half that if both wipers were set at the ground end. Skip Davis, NC9O

Re: I captured my own PSK31 signal and it is not a pretty picture #ubitx-help #filters
Your receiver is too close to your transmitter and you are overloading it. It's the same thing with testing your voice signal with a local receiver and it doesn't sound right. Use a remote station

Re: Harmonics and Relay Replacement
I measured about 2pF across the N/O and N/C contacts (when open) and about 4-5pF from the relay armature to the coil, just like the datasheet mentions for that relay. The relays I tested were the same
