Re: Thoughts on a Ham Bus
There are ideas that sound good in the abstract, but quickly fall apart as they are brought into reality - I suspect this is such an idea. That being said, aren't Elecraft radios 'somewhat' modular?

Re: Blown (socketed) TDA2822?
I received my uBitx in February but did not put it together until early May. As soon as I plugged in a mono headphone I blew out the TDA2822. It did have the WX on it. I removed the chip and installed

Re: Thoughts on a Ham Bus
A PA board up against an exciter is a recipe for trouble. Potentially has 40 dBm signals very near some -20 dBm signals. Digital stuff near the exciter could also cause trouble. Could be dealt with by

Re: QRP Labs BPF power handling
Thanks Hans, I read now ' The double-tuned circuit with transformer match results in an impedance step-up from the 50-ohms input/output. As a result the voltage in the centre section will be higher.'

I agree with Jerry. ?I have a v3 utbitx with a socketed TDA2822, it works great and I prefer it over the discrete amp used in version4. ?I built that same circuit in Pete Juliano¡¯s 40 meter

On computers, a standard bus makes sense, they are just shipping around data and don't care exactly how that happens so long as it is fast and error free.? And maybe some source of power.

Larry has the right idea with #2. also allows you to tune around the frequency and see where the "dip" is before you start adjusting the tuner/antenna. 73 Kees K5BCQ
