I misread the wiring instructions.? It appears that the Bitx40 comes with a pot and that you can add an encoder with other firmware loaded into the Arduino.

Rename the Groups.io group to "bitx" (this is possible through the settings i think), create subgroups for each radio in the bitx family (bitx20, bitx40, ubitx, etc),
